Best overdrive pedal with tubes?

To answer the question about Kingsley pricing, I believe there's a bit of a waiting list so the goofy high used prices are probably because of limited availability. Similar to the A.M King of Tone. Simon builds insane stuff and really has these tuned in.

I've always heard the soldano GTO or whatever it's called was amazing

Had a Vox Brit Boost (Cooltron) once upon a time, basically did what it said on the label but am sure same thing achievable without the tube.

I have a Blackstar HT Dual that i wouldnt mind uloading. Sounds great. Good for 80's metal.

There used to be no wait list on the Kingsley pedals, then That Pedal Show did their special and the wait went to 6 months. Its now 12-15 months depending on what you order.

I first got a V2 Jester with no wait, then got a V1 Harlot, then got on the list for the V2 Jouster and received that. Currently on the list for the Page and expect to get that in the fall. What I love about the Kingsley pedals is how interactive they are with your playing. From Simon's demos you can really see that. For the hard rock the Harlot or Jouster are the best choice, but none of the 3 I have really have the tightness and gain for the modern metal.

I have wanted to check out the Vox tone garage tube pedals as well, they seem pretty cool.

The issue with the high voltage tube pedals is the power. The 9V kingsley pedals take 500mA, the 12V take 500mA. Its the 12V pedals that its hard to find power supplys that will do 1 let alone more than 1. But there are a few out there.

It depends what you are looking to do. I would not recommend it for boosting an amp other than a clean platform amp.

yep... that's what I'm seeing out there
Go with a Cussack Screamer or Maxon 808 if you are boosting your Marshall

Greer Lightspeed.
Doesn’t color your tone at all and very articulate.
Great low to mid gain pedal. Works great with non-master volume Marshalls.
