Best overdrives for marshalls..

Whats everyone's favorite overdrive for boosting an already crunchy dsl marshall the rest of the way..
 
I like using more of a clean boost than an overdrive pedal as a clean boost. I currently like the the RC Booster.
 
In order of preference:

MIJ SD-1
Maxon OD-9
Bad Monkey
 
If you are looking for a transparent "more" pedal, it doesn't get much better than the Timmy.

Yes! The MXR Custom Badass Modified O.D. is awesome! I've been using that a lot to boost my JVM. Very versatile with the 100Hz knob.

I also like the BOSS OD-1X. That is a unique pedal.

Then of course, the old standby pedals are great: SD-1; Tubescreamer; OCD; DS-1; etc.

Honestly, I've never tried the GT-OD but it's on my list of OD's I want to pick up someday.
 
Are you looking for transparent, mid hump, not too much mid hump but some, tighter, etc.?
 
The beauty of the MXR Modified OD is that it does the transparent boost, AND the TS mid hump boost (by pressing a button)! Best of both worlds. And it doesn't suck out all the low end either. Very impressed with it into my crunchy JMP!

This. If I use an ultimate drive(OCD clone) I also put an eq pedal in the chain, mids bumped. But OD1X needs nothing more. Its my new favorite pedal. Sooo quiet and leaves your low end intact, plus you can add some more. SD1 is also cool, a classic for sure. Everyone needs one. :rock:
