I have to agree though: who in the hell are The Winery Dogs??? I had never even heard of them until a week or two ago when the entire first page of the forum was filled with threads about them.

I agree 100%. I'll admit that the lyrics in a couple of tracks are a little corny, but everything from Richie's voice to the band's solid playing more than make up for it.

They're actually my favorite at the moment. They have about the most musically diverse catalog you could find.

I was at Lolla all 3 days this year and I can't even tell you how refreshing it was to hear QOTSA. It was the only thing I heard the whole weekend that was just some awesome rock music. Saw a bunch of great acts that I love. but most of it was more indie or electronic. The rock was not there this year.

This thread is really showing the generational divide of this forum. I don't know about best, but QOTSA is certainly one the biggest rock bands around right now. And for the record, Winery Dogs is barely a blip on the radar.

Why bring up "bigger" when the topic was "best"? And what's the significance of the Winery Dogs' "blip" when talking about something that's completely subjective?

They fucking suck and no one under the age of 50 gives a shit about them. How does that work?

I'm 20 and love me some Kotzen and Portnoy... Especially Billy Sheehan! The moment I heard his playing with DLR I was blown away... Everyone knows Steve Vai is literally not form this world and so his playing, but Sheehan recreating some of that stuff on bass? I'd never heard or seen that before!
