Hey all,

I know this is a ridiculously tough question to answer but after taking a little break from the electric guitar world, I'm back at it and am looking to build up a pedalboard once again. It's been a couple years and I haven't kept in the loop on any new wah's that may have hit the market or have really made a splash. I'm looking for something that doesn't produce much noise but gives a HUGE wah effect. I found crybaby's in the past have been a little wimpy on the "wah" quality (IMO) and although I know their rack wah is supposed to be the holy grail, I'm not looking for a complex rack setup and would prefer to stick with a pedalboard. I play mostly progressive rock/metal so I use a wide range of channels from clean to light distortion to outright heavy, ball busting stuff.

I absolutely love my Jerry Cantrell Sig Wah.

I was actually looking into this one because I saw Guthrie Govan was using it and I do love his wah sounds. That or RMC Wah I've heard some pretty good things about, but not sure which direction I'd go if I was to look into RMC.

Just went through this. Couldnt decide by instore demo's alone. Finally heard a wah tone I really liked at a friends live show. He was using the Dunlop 535 on position 2. I bought one. Messed around with all the positions and yep, position 2 just works...

cae/mxr wah all the way. Simply a killer wah that ended the search for me.

535 position 2 i'm almost positive is the same sweep cap value as the Cantrell wah, .012 uF. it's my fav too. it's a bit less bright and shrill than the stock, .010 uF.

i think position 4 is the Hendrix and Wylde sweep cap value, .022 uF. it's too dull for me.

i love the 535Q, but i mod all my wahs. most of my standard Crybabys, i've added the Cantrell sweep cap and a Q peak-width control, so i'd have to vote for either the Cantrell or 535Q too.

Vertex Axis NOS

Never heard of this before but heard some audio and WOW it sounds great. It also lead me to Area 51 Wah's which sound pretty spectacular as well. Ahhh such a hard decision.

Moollon wah is my favourite but the Cantrell looks very cool

I love my Dime Wah.Actually i have both.There was a special run.The DB02 which has Dime´s settings.
But i think the rack mount version is still the best.If you can find the 1SR then get this

Best wah for money is the Dunlop Wylde wah. All you have to do is to crank the wah pot because the factory setting is to dark because of his Marshall's.
And it's the best because it does wah on every fret position and any level of distortion. And clean it does amazing whoaka chacka!!!

Depends on your sound or style.

I personally like my Tremonti Wah. not nasally...and just feels good for live.

I also own a Mission Engineering Rewah Pro. Great Wah, many features...can nail Hammet, and other styles. The way some of our songs go that we write, I don't have enough time to click an on/off switch though, so I use both.

It's the same procedure for the ZW ??
