Best way to paint and ad graphics to a guitar.

I have a EVH star in primer grey, I want to make it look like the 1980 EVH Charvel star.

Best way to do it correctly any pointers and tips are very appreicated. I really want it to look great, I want to do it myself.

You have options in what finish you use and those options come at varying expensive.

If you've never painted a guitar before you're going to want to watch a few tutorials on it. You can get ok results with a rattle can but the best results will come from a sprayer. Additionally the finish that's put through a sprayer will harden quicker and be more durable than stuff out of a rattle can.

If you have a compressor and a spray gun, you can visit your local body shop and pick up some primer/base/clear coat reasonably priced. You could also check local body shops and see if someone would paint it for you.
