Best winter purchase

Dunno if y’all are like me, but when it gets cold, I end up buying trading more gear. So I’m just curious of the success stories. What was your most successful purchase of this winter season so far?

Not only the best winter purchase, but maybe one of the best purchases I've ever made is the Fender 2001 Eric Clapton Signature "Blackie" Stratocaster I got a few weeks ago. Great neck, stays in tune, great pickups, etc., etc. Nothing I don't like about it.

Yeah I am more active on buying, selling and trading in the Fall and Winter too. I play guitar more too than I do I the Suummer.

This year has been especially busy, several new guitars, amps, pedals and pickups. But the Charvel Custom Roasted Mahogany I just picked up has to top my list.

Mine's a combo of a Helios 100w head, and a MIJ wolfgang mashup with an ivory body and ebony fretboard neck w/ SS frets. To my ears the Helios is loving non-maple top guitars and I've got a great thing going between the two.

Sidenote, it'll be fun to check this in a year to see how many of these we still own haha. Killer stuff so far, I'm not even into Clapton but those strats seem amazing.

Bought a Dr Z Maz 18 combo a few months ago and I have a Neunaber Immerse mk2 reverb possibly arriving today. I'm expecting hypnotic clean tones from the combination....

...almost time to make some coffee and prepare my seat by the window.

so far my best winter purchase was actually a trade with splatter. I scored that 50W 6550 powered Yeti that had the Hopkins Pandora mod he had for sale. it sounded much better than advertised for sure !

Congrats!! That's a beauty! The original HP axes were such steals and underrated...I've been wondering what ever happened to the new HP2 versions, they never seem to pop up used, this is the first post I've seen of one in fact, lucky bastid!!

For me it's not so much the winter cold this time of the year that spurs a gear purchase or two, it's more the Uncle Sam thing lol. I just grabbed this killer D-tone pedal (I know, but this aint TGP lol and I don't always play high gain, weedly stuff) because I needed something for low gain, bluesy tones....this pedal flat out nails the Carlton vibe, especially into the Green channel of the XTC. There may be a HNGD in my near future too to top off the winter blues haha.
