Some devices specify alkaline batteries because they offer a higher voltage and longer runtime compared to other battery types like carbon-zinc, especially in devices that draw a consistent, low amount of power.

Thanks D-Rock. I'll test it further on Wednesday and if using Alkaline batteries fixes the issue.
