Selling a fake Cameron here, is like selling a chinese knockoff Les Paul on the Gibson Les Paul forum

  Very true.

I know it's not an uncommon practice, especially with guitars, and even have a friend I have a lot of respect for that puts logos on parts guitars (that are built very well), but my problem with it is that after it's been sold once or twice you can have unsuspecting buyers who aren't capable or don't know to validate authenticity of everything they buy getting screwed because of it.

Then again, I have a WS-6 logo on my Marshall. Hopefully nobody will ever mistake it for a Trans Am.

holy crap....

Just so you guys know I sold that amp to Psycho Dave, then it went to Vince, I believe Vince may have added that Cameron Logo, but for sure I never sold it as a Cameron amp or with a Cameron Logo, I would never do that.

The description of the amp and it's functions are wrong also.....

I knew it was a Toaster, but I never figured you put the logo on; that was probably Dave, just fucking around.

FWIW- I seriously doubt Dave would have misrepresented what it was, to anyone.

Yea for sure not Dave, and I'm sure Vince Wouldn't have done that.... Glad Rockinchippy got refunded, If you ever want that amp I can always do one...

FWIW - that clip sounds killer!

The irony is that the good name of Mark Cameron was dragged through this sorry affair.

I never said this was built by Mark Cameron himself, and everybody knows that Mark signs all the amps he's modded personally. There were plenty of pictures of the amp, inside and out, and it was described as too what mods and style of mods were in it.
Alex messaged me on Rigtalk and the Gear Page telling me he wanted to buy it and offered me Less money for it. I agreed and he sent payment.
I'm not out too screw anybody and I've had tons of dealings with guys on here over the years. He said that he knew is was a custom build from the "Community" here and he still bought it?
I've sold dozens of amps on here and have had only good dealings with everyone. I've offered to reduce the price for Alex in good faith, since he mistunderstood what it was.

NO. That doesn't work.
Refund the money. Now.
Fucking shady to the max.
You cannot justify it, the AD makes it clearly look like it's a custom ground up build BY Mark Cameron.
And NO, you can't just assume people know shit about who signs what or any of that line of BULLSHIT.

The buyer is pissed, and we are all watching dude.
Take this opportunity to do the right thing, otherwise choose the path of total fuckin asshole.
:gethim:
Well said, Reza.

I don't think his reputation is repaired. Someone who only comes clean AFTER being outed on a public forum isn't exactly what I'd call trustworthy, nor is someone who puts "Cameron" on an amp that's not actually a Cameron.

Holy crap... :hys: :hys: :hys:
That line actually did have me burst out laughing!!!

Just checking in...

First up, shame on anyone who thinks anything with the name "Cameron" on it is worth any more than the next signature built amp. Seriously, fuckin' grip, get one.

Secondly, imposter - and a lie about passing the blame onto someone else saying it was a ground-up built Cameron, fuck that shit. Get a grip - again - and return the funds. You lied.

Thirdly, people, there are A HOST OF AWESOME AMP BUILDERS OUT THERE!!!!! CAN WE PLEASE STOP MOISTENING OUR PANTS FOR A NAMEPLATE ON AN AMP THAT MEANS SFA COMPARED TO DOZENS OF OTHER AMP BUILDERS?!?!?!?!?

No offense Mark, dig your work, but sporadic would be the best description of how things have played out....

Whatever.
Mo

wow, glad this one got cleared up! I purchased a Cameron off of splawner that didn't have a signature

Glad you got your money back Alex, shady as hell. And I've done high dollar deals with Vince, I highly doubt he would want or need to scam anyone.

Yeah, mine was legit as other previous owners on the board confirmed for me. Just makes me really hesitant to buy another Cameron modded amp anymore.
