Huge fan of positive grid as a whole but the desktop bias wasn't for me at all without having jamup to go along with it. Personally, I would have released Jamup for desktop first, then bias. The price is also fairly high. Great product for iPad though, I love it.

Also, for those of you who have an iPad and are considering getting JamUp, BIAS or Final Touch, we have bundled them together as the “Guitar Production Bundle for iPad” for a special price, check out more here

No effects, no Ben Duncan. I'll probably stick with the cheap version until Jamup comes with

The price reflects the 2 years of R&D spent on making BIAS studio ready, it may look like the iOS version, but it was completely built from the ground up (including the coding) for BIAS to be ready for professional studio and serious home recording applications.

Is it all Detuned Metal or does it do other tones well? Marshall stuff more specifically....
Could really do with an all in rig for my ipad ;)
Thanks

I can only speak for Bias/Jamup for iPad/iPhone but YES!

It's a really amazing product and for the price it simply can't be beat IMO.

I was very hesitant at first and thought Yeah right but I was surprised.

There are amp packs for all styles, lots of effects in jam up and you can also build your own amps. Everything from transformers to tube types and tone stacks.

It's also compatible with other effects apps and things like garage band.

I still do favor a tube amp over it but mine cost well over a grand and Bias was like $10. :)

Also it's worth noting I've never used a Really killer power amp with Bias so that could change the game completely. I'm too scared to run Bias with my tube amp but am very curious.

Lastly want to add that even with my shoddy power amp (it's a cheap solid state 50w PA head) and Bias pushing my 4x12. My band tried out a guitarist who had a 2x12 and a Bugera 333 (I think 120w tube) Bias blew him away!! I had to turn down a bit.

It can certainly do any sound you want to go after, here is an example of that with BIAS desktop.

I love the Bias Desktop Marshall tones.
The mesa lead tone and the 5153 just kill.

Awesome!

Nice gear list too, have you tried running BIAS through your rig yet?

I looked at your product a while back. Not sure what the reasoning behind the "invite only" thing was, but for me. it was a major turn off. There are only three reasons I can think of that a company would offer a product in that manner 1. The product is not ready 2. To create hype, and a sense of exclusiveness for the buyer. 3. to build an email data base.
I may be way off base with that, but as there was no explanation on your site, I was left to draw my own conclusions. That's bad for your biz, because I was prepared to buy at that time. I may buy your product, but I would like an explanation of why I couldn't just buy it when I went to your site for that purpose?

I tried it and IMO it's the best amp simu available today on DAW.
It's perfect.

The amp sim is great, but the product is not perfect.
My main problem is that you can not fully disable the cab/mic section, which is very weak. I want to use Torpedo WoS.

The product was at a BETA test stage and we invited a certain amount of users for pre-release BETA testing.

We do have a demo available at store.positivegrid.com if you are interested in trying it out for free :)

Good to see you guys are looking into that as well as listening to feedback. I'm a firm believer in giving people what they want.

To Voodoo, it's a great product. Definitely try the free demo. I was highly skeptical about Bias when it came out and was pretty amazed after I tried it. It might not have been worded the best at the time but Beta testing is something many people do these days and is a great thing for the consumers for a company to cross the t's if you will before release.
