Was thinking about getting one of these just to make life a wee bit easier and I see it's been discontinued. Yeah, I live under a rock. :gethim:

Any other tools out there like the bias rite that are reliable and readily available? Or is there a cool DIY version out there somewhere?

Sweet! I have the original version. It's got to be worth a mint now since we all know older versions are always more desirable.

I'll sell it for $1,500 plus shipping.

I call shenanigans on that price. I'll let mine go for $1200.

Wow you money whores, letting mine go for $79 and $1000 shipping. Buyer pays paypal 3% as I need to make a profit

Seems like Weber is discontinuing alot of their 'electronics'. They discontinued the Weber Browner too.

Anyway, I use and love the Compu Bias, only draw back is it can only accept 2 tube sockets, but I have another bias probe I got from ebay I can use if I want to check on the other 2 tubes.

I'll cut my losses and sell you mine for a cool $950 shipped (as long as you are in the CONUS)

Anyone emailed the company to see why they're pulling back on their products??

I have a 4 lead Bias-Rite, makes life amazingly easy and simple. Bonus too, I let the amp run and play through it watching the mA drift...after a couple hours, reset, and re-load the chassis back into the shell. Done.

Too bad, good product IMHO.

Peace,
V.

I do have one that I would be willing to sell. Never used....

If you google the weber product, there have been some issues brought up on forums from end users. I don't remember all the details, but I wouldn't trust it with a customers amp.

I always read that you're not supposed to play through the amp with the bias rite connected to the tubes.

That would certainly make life easier if it was safe. I can't tell you how many times I've burned my hands on tubes after biasing with the bias rite.

I've done it briefly before. Not sure why it would matter.

I'm a bit of rebel.

As for the transformer shunt method ftw...

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

Hmmmmm.. I've played through an amp with the Bias King hooked up, I did not know there was a potential problem
Wonder what the problem would be??

I think it was a post or article by that guy Myles that used to post all of the info about tubes.
