If I replace my blown power tubes in my VH4 with the exact same brand and model tubes, is it necessary for me to get my head biased?

Same brand and type doesn't mean anything. Thats why you buy a matched quad. They are all rated different and have different output. Have your amp biased shouldn't cost you more then like $60USD at the most. Last time I got an amp biased I paid $20 for it. Since then I have learned how to do it myself.

How do you do this on the early VH4's with no bias trimmer?

No bias trimmer untill late 97-98 I think.

Tubes were better back then.

I would like to see a pic of this amp and dibs.

 every amp except those with fixed or auto-adjusting bias (mesa boogie, hughes&kettner) should have a bias trimmer!

hehe, really? what do you do when you have to swap tubes? soldering new resistors? just curious....

Correct elfredoo. On amps you do not have bias trimmer, one should select a set of tubes that get you close or far enough and change the resistor. I would describe bias trimmer to be more-or-less equivalent to "adjustable resistor".

Sorry for my early mistakes :D

Nothing about the vh4 was EVER a mistake. It got you where you are today and those early amps blessed our ears with some of the best sounds we have ever heard! Let us call it a 'Learning Experience'.
