Three with side getters by John Bazzano, on FlickrMarkedman":244pr2az said:I looked at prices on these toobs, they're worth $$$$ if I list the whole box on eBay. Those prices are selling, not asking prices. Asking prices would take these into the $3,000 - $4000 range. Folks want $200 a pop for the 7025's, $100 for the 12AX7's, 7027A's and 6L6's. Those side getter 6L6's on eBay, old & used without the boxes, sold for $268 for a quad yesterday.
I'm going to test these and sell the ones I'll never use. That might pay for the ones I want to keep.
Excellent. That's the kind of seller you want. Glad they all tested as actual New Old Stock and Used New Old StockMarkedman":3dxuv7i2 said:"wonder if the seller knew what he was doing.
did you 'local pick up'?
was it a guitar player?
was it someone desperate for cash?
was it someone who maybe inherited them and didn't bother to research?"
It was a local guy who posted them on CL. He did say he thought about opening an eBay account and said he might. He was a retired electronics repairman and drove an early sixties Ford Rambler, with a tube radio. He said he had other stuff for sale like testing equipment and other non guitar amp based tubes.
He asked why I wanted them and I said for my amps. He said he never played but loves music.
I'm warming my tube tester as I type this, I'll find out soon if I got taken for a schmuck. I'll list the odd ball tubes and I'll look for a 4th side getter 6L6 in the same shape so I can run those.

I just ordered a ma. meter from Stewart Mac. I debated buying the MaxiMatcher for $800.00 and may still, but the $100.00 ma. meter will help me sell the tubes. What kind of tube tester do you use?
