Just curious what y'alls most epic deals of all time have been?

Mine was either when I worked at Guitar Center Chattanooga and found a used Warmoth in one of the Washington State stores. It is a 24.75" scale superstrat with probably alder or ash with a curly maple top in an orangey/red type burst with Duncans, an Original Floyd, curly maple neck with ebony board, stainless frets for $300. The guy had bought it used prior for $1000 I think they said and wanted to sell it back, but it was after the 30 days so he had to sell it back for much less. They either relisted it at $300, or just dropped it to that eventually when I came across it. And since it was store to store....no shipping fees.

If that isn't my best deal, then it would be back in the day when I had one of the Performer Series Jackson Kelly guitars that was kind of beat up, crappy factory electronics, etc I got for dirt cheap and I was trying to sell or trade it on a local musicians forum back then and the singer of a metal band in town wanted to trade a USA Made (I think a 93 or 94) Strat that he had gotten as a wedding gift years ago and it just sat in his closet forever. He wanted a metal looking guitar, as the Strat served him no purpose. I made that deal so fast lol

Got an '87 Jackson Soloist for $1K locally a few years back on FB Martketplace.

And maybe 7 or 8 years ago I got an '84 Spector NS2 bass for $1099 off GC Used... definitely worth way more than that.

got this Mesa cab from GC for 250 plus shipping and tax ... came to about 290 .....

they packed it like champions and it showed up looking just fine ..... then I retoxed it and built a back piece to fill in the " half back " section

it came with all black shadows that tested fine and were broken in real nice !

My buddy got an 80s ESP M1 Custom for $200 from a pawn shop. It was his first guitar. He put a Fu Manchu sticker and rocked it before realizing that a single bridge pickup is the opposite of all things Stoner Rock. He sold it to me for $300; More than he paid for it, but still a deal.

Royal blue, neck through, single EMG and a Floyd, it wasn't for me either. Plus it needed frets, so I traded it for a Warwick Corvette fretless bass. I hate Warwack basses (even before becoming a Spector Artist), so I traded it away for an Ibanez VBT700 and a Bugera 333XL. I promptly sold the Booger and got my $300 back, so the guitar was free. I still got it. Those Blade Vs are getting pretty rare these days, and now fetching a grand.

Roland Integra-7 that was going for $1599 new, I got one new in factory sealed box for $900 on a going out of business sale IIRC.

Today they're going for $1999.99 new.

Probably a few others... I got my like-new ISP Theta Pro Michael Sweet for $800 shipped - new they're $1399, and most used I see are $1K+

USA Peavey 6505+ half stack for $400 about 5 years ago.

If I was looking at today's dollars, the 3 Sovtek Mig's that I bought for $250 each from my guitar/amp tech in Columbus back in the late 1990's. Of course I sold them for cheap too back then. Today those are worth some cash!

I paid just over $1000 for my Uber Rev Blue. I got a Jackson KV-1 for $600, an 80s Carvin V-220 for $300. 5150 Block letter for $450, Krank Rev 1 for $290. Two Peavey Ultra Pluses, one was $190, other one was $250. Randall RGT-100 for $200. Rhino Beast was $200. Rivera Knucklehead II was $540. I paid $550 for a 3 channel Recto (non-multiwatt). I paid $430 for my Lado Medallion bass.

Walked into a video/record/cd shop around 2001 and saw a RG560 on the counter in case with a sign saying $175. Serial number had F7 so knew it was first year. I asked and turns out a kid working there was stealing porn, got caught and couldn’t cover it so the owner made him pay with the guitar. Quickest trip to the ATM ever.

Ibanez TS-808 original, not reissue for $25 in 1992. Was doing some studio work and the engineer had it on his shelf. I didn’t know it’s value or even what it was - I had never heard of a ts-808. and asked if he wanted to sell it. He said a guy gave it to him for $25 that he owed him, so $25 and it was mine. Was in the music store the next day and asked my buddy that worked there if he’d heard of the ts-808. his eyes bugged out of his head and said do you have one?!?!?! he freaked out and said it was worth like $400. I ended up giving it to a buddy who was buying my vintage 2203, i thought they belonged together - i wish i had both back lolol
