watched a few videos which reminded me of why I avoid bike rallies:
1) idiots on bikes; I saw a couple of riders not paying attention and slamming into a bike in front of them on Main St. albeit at 5 mph.
2) cops on every corner / intersection. looking for any violation to ticket, fine, tow or arrest. only one of my 3 bikes would pass the test.
3) riding for miles at under 10 MPH, duck walking your bike for 30+ minutes with your legs getting cooked to get to the festivities on Main St.
4) idiots on baggers sharing the worst music you've ever heard; loud enough to be heard over the pipes. you're probably stuck in the spot right in front of him as you're duck walking to Main St. for 30+ minutes.
5) old, fat men and women, underdressed and showing more skin than you'd ever want to see. You're not fit or under 30 anymore, no one wants to see your fat rolls, stretch marks, man boobs, etc.
I'm a few hours away from Daytona; I prefer to visit when no major events are in town; and ride A1A without thousands of other slow moving bikes in a parade.
