Bill from Mastodon sells his own gear on Ebay

He's on reverb as well. Just a fan and collector like many of the rest of us. Just also happens to be in a baDass band. I don't imagine they are hurting for money but their headlining gigs aren't that big. While they are more mainstream than they used to be or perhaps ever thought they'd be. They still aren't very mainstream. Outside of my inner circle of friends, most people I know or meet have never heard of them.
 
200k?, now figure in all of the logistics costs, travel, meals, hotel, crew, transportation, payroll for any support. Now, they have insurance and typically expenses like anyone else, but when not on tour, have no reliable income.
 
Ya all the dudes from Mastodon are big gear heads... They're always buying and selling old Marshalls and Les Pauls and stuff on their Facebook page, and not for some absurd cost it's more of a "Hey, you like us on Facebook, if you're a guitar player thought you'd like to know we're selling some of our old gear, buy it if you want." Watching their last Rig Rundown it seems they, especially Bill, were moving to AxeFX for effects at the very least

Megadeth did a similar think last year I think, selling off old cabs and stuff
