Billy Corgan interviews Steve Vai

You mean Billy interviews himself...dude is so into himself he can't shut the fuck up and let his guests answer any questions. I def don't see what you guys do, this bald fuck is insufferable and arrogant. I think he forgets his band was Smashing Pumpkins, not the Rolling Stones or KISS. He just isn't that big of a deal.

I think he does a great job, I've watched several. I'm not a Pumpkins fan, and never claimed to be, but he doesn't rub me the wrong way.

He's constantly interrupting and building these stories in his head of how his guest must have felt and then brings it back to himself instead of just letting them answer questions about how they actually felt about something. Honestly, I cannot stand the guy.

I never have been able to either. He accuses people of copying parts of his songs too.

Corgan needs to shut the fuck up, down, inside out and sideways

I remember Billy Corgan, when asked about Vai, said, “Isn’t that the dude from Whitesnake?”

Then, he just overtalks the guy on interview. Not a good interviewer at all.

He could have pulled a lot more out of Vai than what we got.

Does he say something to the equivalent of - "So Steve, how did it feel to be thought of as a joke during the '90s? I mean there was us, the artists changing culture... and then there was you guys, the technical wizards playing as fast as you can.. oh, no offense but do you see what I'm saying?"

I love Billy but he always seems to throw a backhanded compliment in every chance he gets.

I also have a hard time watching his interviews. He spends way too much time setting up his questions. He usually talks way more than the person he's interviewing.

One of the first times I've not enjoyed Corgan's interviews.

He's done some really good interviews (Simmons, Springfield etc..) but this one, he really stepped all over Steve in my opinion. He needed to reign himself in here instead of interjecting so much.

Billy C. would whine at shows for people not standing up and worshipping him. His voice bothers me which is petty but first impressions are lasting. Nothing has changed with this guy over time outwardly. He is smart and thoughtful (iirc as seen on Howard stern interview- btw who is also a jackaloon now) unlike a lot of other “rockstars” but the above comments are correct; it’s about him in his mind. He is NO Jim Morrison…. He is just a short lived rockstar trying to stay relevant. I wonder what Iha would say behind closed doors about the smashing pumpkins and BC. That is the real interview.

Did he say that to him ?

Great interview, only because of Steve imho.
BC always seems to me to be like "i understand everything because i used to be a rock star too" no matter who he is talking to.
This is a perfect example- he comes off as trying to be a peer of Steve Vai when Steve forgot more about music than BC will ever know.
