anyone ever notice guys on their local craigslist that have items for sale and never drop the price even though they have now been there for years? I see a guy selling an ESP, a nice ESP, and he had it at 1650 for a couple years, a few weeks ago he raised it to 2350! strange sellers...….

Yep. There's several here in Tampa, one of which is some jackass selling an Epiphone Wildcat for $600. He's calling it a "Gibson Custom Shop". 2 years..... After 1-1/2 years, he RAISED it to $700.

I have seen that up forever in Tampa. Lol.

And the quartz tuner that has been reposted for $15 for at least a year or so. FFS it's $15 it's not worth the effort to repost on the regular.

There's quite a few here in the NYC area that have been up for years and years and years. They stop adding pictures after a while.

I bought a Boogie Mark III based on an ad without the picture. I almost pulled the trigger many times on this amp and when the ad came up again, I knew by the description that that was the amp. I called the guy and he said he'd send pictures. I told him don't bother, I want the amp. When I got to Brooklyn, I met him after work and we went into his apartment, ahem, yeah, anyway he dug it out of a closet under a pile of stuff and there it was, a Blue stripe Mark III in great condition with an EV speaker for $500.00. It was in a Traynor combo shell that was too large but it was held in by a Boogie rack brace. I rehoused the chassis into a hardwood after market shell with a wicker grill.

Totally. If it's less than $40 I don't bother.

Then you have the guys who are selling a set of strings for $7 WHAT THE FUCK? If I need strings I will order them or go to a shop. I am not going to meet someone for strings? Or picks?

LOL;
the only versions that could be worth maybe close to $400 (definitely not $600 or $700) are the 2006 Sunrise Orange versions from Korea.
That's the one I have btw. ;)
Upgraded the nut and put in a roller bridge.

The worst is: mint condition, but it had a headstock repair 10 years ago.

"20 bucks is 20 bucks"

I know what you mean but it's not worth the hassle and frustration just isn't worth it. I really can't think of a $20 item.

Mpls Craigslist would have a 79 JMP 2104 up for 1500. Then he'll drop it little by little to 1250. It still sits. That's a good price; I was going to buy it, then POOF it's gone. 2 months late there it is again, at 1500. Same process all over.

There is a Marshall 1987x for 2300 it's been there for over a year. No trades price firm... yeah good luck

that's the WORST!!!! the guy that has a mint piece of gear, "BUT" it had this issue, or that problem, but a headstock repair takes that to another level altogether, stage 10 lunacy!!!

There is a guy in my area that will buy a guitar for pretty much what it's worth (sometimes over what it's worth), then list it for $50 more dollars. He never sells anything, and has been listing some of the same crap for years. Of course, he is "FIRM" on everything. Oh, and everything is RARE or HARD TO FIND, even though it's just some mass produced crap that you can find anywhere.

 That's an awesome score! I've missed a few sweet deals here in the city in the last year but there's bound to be more. Just gotta stay on the Craigslist erryday.

I gotta be honest I would NEVER buy a Gibson with a headstock repair. I don't care how long ago or how well it was fixed, unless it was a QUARTER the price of an equivalent used one. Fuck that.

There's a dude on my local craigslist that makes a post almost daily bitching about the prices of the gear listed. Granted, there is a lot of shit priced fairly high but to make a post on a daily basis crying about it is just mental.

There's a guy in SF bay that has Ace Frehley LP for sale for $4500. that has a head stock repair.. Every time I see the ad I just laugh.
Barely a mention of it in the ad, but clearly visible in the pic.
