I'm sure it was loud in the early days. I saw Kiss live in '76/'77 and it was loud, but it was an arena show.

I saw them on the Alive I tour at the Music hall in Boston and it was loud as hell, but the mix was really good. Granted I was a little kid
at the time but at the time it was one of the most intense , crazy thing I'd ever seen.
Now I'm not really a fan of anything after Dressed to kill
