Clean channel died last night in the middle of a gig, no pops, no static, no nothing. Dirt channel works fine. Any ideas what this could be? It seemed to quit as I was changing the channel if that helps.

it could be a faulty tube depending on how they do gain stages but really dunno, you could try swapping out the preamp tubes to see, seeing as one channel works fine

Pretty sure that's a busted 12AX7 in the pre.

Are reliability issues in Blackstar's common? Thinking about buying one.

i've had no issues with the HT-5 and HT dual , had them about 2-3 months now

The HT-5 is used maybe around 20hrs a week, only thing i changed in it was put a Tung Sol in the 12ax7 slot, sounded better to me

not sure about their other amps, it's a fairly mass produced line so i would think the occasional hiccup would crop up

That's my thinking, also, I'm looking at the HT-100. There's a whole load of shit to go wrong in there, unlike the HT-5.

I've heard more stories of Peavey amps going astray than Blackstar, but that's totally out of context, given how long peavey have been making amps. there's probably horror stories with a lot of companies

I've also been quite interested in the HT-100 and the Series 104 EL34 , but this is all coming from the hours i've spent with the Ht-5 which has always been at pretty low volumes

hard to beat the price/features tho, you should probably find good deals on blackstar stuff used
