I'm a Les Paul guy and as such, one thing I love about the volume/tone options they offer is the ability they afford you to blend the bridge and neck with the middle switch selected. I have a build coming along that will have the traditional LP style knob layout, but will be sporting a double cutaway. The upper cutaway kinda robs me of a traditional 3 way toggle placement and raises the question, "Where the hell am I gunna put that sucker with 4 knobs hog'n up all the space?"

So I was all spaced out halfway in dream land today when I thought maybe I should invent a blend pot.. Up until a few hours ago, I didn't realize these actually existed. Have your laughs.

But yeah, when you mix your volumes/tones just right, you can feel that shit and I'd really hate to give that up for a switch. I'm just unwilling to compromise. Haha. So I'm thinking two standard tone pots, a Blender in the neck's volume position and a master volume/coil splitter in the bridge volume position.

Anybody currently using this set up or one like it? Is there a good reason I've been playing guitar all these years haven't heard of a blend pot until today? I'd really appreciate your input based on your experiences.

Thanks!

Lots of bass guitars use blend pots. I was actually thinking about the same thing today, been planning how I wanna rewire my rga121 for the new BKP's.

That'd be cool. Drop a line with what you come away with through your research and testing if you decide to go that rout.

Then again, I'd really hate to lose out on another favorite classic LP feature for the sake of a blend and single master. Switching from that mellow rolled back chimey neck position, steping up to a dimed and dirty bridge.

I've got some think'n and tinker'n to do..

Blend pot, SG-like selector placement (for the traditional look), or maybe one of those pots that operates as a two-in-one.
