Blending Two Hi-Gain Amps Live

I’ve forgotten (in my old age) what the deal was with running two hi-gain heads at the same time and phase cancellation issues. Wasn’t it dependent on how many gain stages each head has? Like, two amps with 5 gain stages you’ll have to run a sub mixer with a phase flip? Help a derpy brutha out.

Yes and yes. Use a splitter with phase reversal and midi for best results so amp channels, a/b and phase all change simultaneously for each tone required. Lehle and rjm come to mind.

I use a Radial Engineering Big Shot for this. Works great!

Use one of these and adjust the phase with the switch. You can also blend the two, giving one a bit more of an edge on the back of it.. or you can run it in the middle and have both the same.
