Actually, another day, another listen on monitors.
I have to say, I didn't like the tone full stop. If someone had said "this is my recording of my Mesa DR"... I'd have immediately hopped on them as to why they had such a weak fuzzy tone. I've recorded my old DR a few times and never got it that... er... bad... sorry to say.
Regardless of whether one's a modeller and the other is a real amp, I still thought the tone overall sucked.
I still am willing to alter my perception in that modellers are at a stage now where on recordings it's all good.
I'm happy to stick to real amps for live though - I'm still not brought around to using modellers live through experience. The effort required to not bury them in a mix is the same as just using a head/cab which are far less hassle!
