I pinched the tip of my left index finger and there's a little blood blister. (Sorry - I'm at work so I can't post pics.) It's maybe 1/4" by 1/8" and it's EXACTLY where the string(s) touches my finger.

So do I pop it?

I tried playing with it last night. It's funny how something so small can get in the way of your playing.

I have no problem popping it. I cut splinters out of my fingers on a regular basis. I just don't know if you're supposed to pop these or not.  I don't know if it will heal faster.

Do you have a gig in the next 4 days? I had one I popped the day of a gig, had to put superglue on it to get through the night. Did not want blood all over my fretboard. I ended up with a mess of a fingertip before the halfway point, had to self medicate the rest of the night { much more than was normal then } They never happen somplace that it dosent matter

No gig until December, but I do have practice tonight. I once had a gig with 6 stitches in the palm of my right hand...near my thumb where I mute the lower strings. That blew dog.

I just popped this little bastard and it feels better already. I have to admit I don't think I'm going to like sliding this finger around the low B while playing tonight.

Duct/electrical tape workds wonders for band aids were string contact is concerned

Geez...tough crowd. My original post stated I was at work, but you guys don't let up.  Now I'm back at work.

I played last night and some riffs/solos were a little more uncomfortable than others. I just bled it out again and it feels and looks much better.

you actually have Compeed for cold sores as well. I would imagine those to be thinner, concerning protection AND a little feel of the string:)
