Whatever happened to these pedals? I'd really like to try one sometime.

Cool boost pedals though, just a modded tubescreamer really. Saturated sounding, I think it works best on an amp that’s already decently tight but just needs a bit of saturation and grit.

One of two of the Bloody Murders with the additional boost feature (other one has blue lettering with a channel switching jack). The Bloody Murder boost is basically a more extreme version of the Keeley baked mod with a different clipping circuit (two silicon diodes and an LED for asymmetrical style clipping) and thickened up a bit to account for the more extreme gain.
The essence of the story is that he used to build awesome boost pedals, but something happened. Either it was too much stress, life stress, or whatever, but he started flaking out on orders and eventually just ghosted people, shutting the business down. I remember pics of his arm all cut up from a window or something on Sevenstring.org, and that's about the last I heard of him.
For the handy people out there: the info posted in here is enough to build your own version of the Bloody Murder pedal. Mine had the RC4558P chip instead of the standard JRC4558, and this is the circuit board he used on mine: https://store.generalguitargadgets.com/ ... s-pcb.html
You can grab a BYOC kit or something, perform the baked mod, do the asymmetrical clipping circuit I mentioned, change the .047 cap for a .100 or .150, and there ya go - Bloody Murder boost. I wouldn't normally post technical stuff like that, but given that he's kinda screwed some people over by ghosting everyone, and considering he doesn't make them anymore, I don't feel too bad about it.
Yeah I really hate boost pedalsvultures":2aa4317e said:I've thought about building one for a while, but I have too many boosts as is..

Mostly because I have to use one and can't ever decide on just one.
Stacking pedals aside I find that each boost that one would like is dependent on everything. The room I am in seems to be the biggest factor but the amp, the cab, possibly the guitar.
As soon as I switch amps THE ONE boost pedal is now obsolete and I find myself saying damn, why did I sell that Maxon
TL;DR you need every boost pedal ever made.

I Own so many pedals that can be used as a boost....it's crazy when i think about it.
1. Maxon OD-9 (wish i still had my original green bottom maxon OD808 it was so warm sounding)
2. T.C. Electronics Distortion/Booster
3. T.C. Electronics Spark Boost
4. MXR GTOD
5. Boss SD-1
6. MXR/CAE MC402
7. Randall MOR
8. AMP MAN Pedal (Prototype #71)
9. Ibanez TS9DX (FOR SALE)
I'm sure there are at least 2 or 3 more but i can't remember them off the top of my head.

And yeah, I agree about boost pedals, lol. I've had a bunch too. The Duncan 805 is my current favorite. I've wanted to try the Maxon VOP-9 and OD-820 for a while, though.

I've really been trying to downsize and still have a couple that I can't decide between so I decided to just sell me tube amp instead![]()

Not sure. It was cool but didnt work with my amp. Vulture linked the schematics which idk anything about but Ive heard its an 808 with an sd1 tone stack. Not sure but the OD820 has been on the radar for sure.
