body wood that matches well with maple neck and maple board?

I'm a big fan of maple boards. I have 3 guitars with them
1)koa body
2)basswood /maple top
3)alder

didn't like swamp ash

what other body wood would match well with maple boards/necks>
read mahogany doesn't like maple necks
 
Basswood/maple top is great. Very wide spectrum of tones.

I've of Mahog not mixing good with maple but I've seen plenty of them so I don't really believe it would sounnd bad. Jim Roots sig is that combo too.
 
I have a custom build Tele copy. Mahogany with quilted maple cap and birds eye maple neck and board. Love it.

+1 on the mahogany body & maple neck. Great combo.
Here's my Ibanez J. Custom with mahogany body, spalted maple top, maple neck & BKP Rebel Yell set.



 
Another + for Mahogany.

Is definitely a BRIGHT combo but nothing a darker pickup can't take care of. Cuts and attacks well to my ears.

a good piece of alder is my fave.
basswood has a great clean tone and a fast shreddy attack but i dont like how it sustains as much.

Jimbo...that's by far the nicest custom I've ever seen.....why they decided to put a flamed maple cap of a different color on the headstock is besides me though.....
 
all my charvels are alder and have all maple necks
not a single complaint from me about the tone from them :D
 
If you like the deep tone from the Koa body ( I assume the Koa has more low end than your other 2 ?)

you will probably like the Mahogany also , maybe from someone who can pick a piece that has deeper tone

if you don't mind,a little extra weight, I think you might be better off with Medium weight Mahogany ( there are no Rules that always apply but.... If you want it brighter, lighter weight Mahogany and even brighter than that try Limba ( Korina ).
 
I had sworn off pine bodies after having a couple of very underwhelming ones, but I have a Tele with a maple neck that sounds fabulous. Wouldn't be my first choice, but I can't deny this one sounds great.

The two maple/mahogany guitars I've owned were indeed bright and kinda weak-sounding. The mids were extremely subdued, and the guitars sounded harsh.
