Bogner 101B w/ New Pandora Mod from Bogner

Not at all affiliated with Hopkins Pandora, it’s a mod done at the factory currently only on new models. We are asking if we can send in our 101Bs for it.

Yes this is Reza’s video, which is why I am sharing it on his behalf.

It’s pretty nuts. My 90’s one won’t even get this heavy boosted.

Half the problem is that he uses those super expensive alnico speakers that literally no one else really uses. In the comments on a Bogner group on social media, quite a few wanted him to redo it with greenbacks and V30s which are more common to compare against.

I agree it’s a cool tone but how much is a credit to the speaker voicing and not the amp?

I literally call that idiot out every time I can. He swears everyone is a peasant that doesn’t use those I think, yet NO ONE Uses those, or ever has…. The ultimate cork sniffing bedroom virgin.

His vids tend to have a ‘raspy’ high end, definitely something I can dial in on the Alnicos (vintage Blues and JBL) that I have here, if I’m not careful.
He definitely needs to try different speakers in his vids just for comparison sake.

He did a few demos earlier on that sounded good with the Alnico Creams but it seems to be a speaker that isn't as compatible with as many amps as Greenbacks or V30s are. The attack sounds very splatty, undefined and fuzzed out most of the time.

Well...I have used either a Blue / G12H30 combo or a Gold / Creamback combo for years and gig near weekly with the Gold / Creamback 2x12 and my Wizard and it sounds awesome, not changing it up but also not using alnico's only.... I guess my point was that his demo vids consist of 97.2% dropped whatever palm mute rapid fire chug riffs. He's demoing one of the most versatile amps ever built, I want to hear it across the range to get an idea of how this mod affects everything. Does what he does well, but if the variety in chops aint there lets hear a Pete Thorn type player demo it and give us a broad picture of the amps capabilities.

To his defense he did say it was only for channel 3, one of the most controversial channels on the Bogner XTC. Either you love that channel or you despise it. Personally the versatility is on channel 2 which is more 2203 like. He also said it was a first impression video and not a proper review.

I have no issue with Reza. I’m glad he makes videos and show cases cool amp. It better than 99% of the music on the radio.

I’ve got some used alnico creams. They’re cool but not too different from v30s. I haven’t mic’d and recorded to maybe hear more but to my ears they’re kinda close. I had to switch from an x pattern to both creams on top to make myself feel better about the purchase ha ha.

I don’t play real heavy stuff but definitely in the modded Marshall arena.

Does anybody know more about this Pandora mod? Does it fundamentally change the Red channel away from stock or does the mod just add switchable options to give you more options in addition to how crazy versatile the amp is already?

Mod seems to increase the gain/versatility quite a bit though? idk.

I'd love to hear it played/recorded by someone else, this sounds exactly like all of rezas demos to me.

that channel definitely has a lot more gain than the ones ive played

I informed him that I liked him much more in
The Shadow Principle then on YT.,
and that the bass player/singer was a wimp & was holding him back from becoming a rock & roll star.
-NEVER trust his video’s, I bet he boosts things or eq’s things secretly with those

NO WAY the Butterslax has those sub-lows, I bought it because of that & returned the amp back because of that.

Reza plays some good riffs, I have zero prob with him, and have never had issue with him on this board. I do agree the Alnico Creambacks he uses make things sound tighter and different than most guys speakers. Do they do this mod to the 3534?

While I generally don't disagree with this post, I must say that I use them.. Have a quad in my Friedman cab. Got a good deal, so I tried them.

I also use them in my wiz cab lol

I had a pair of the 90 watt Alnico Creams (8 ohm) in a Thiele Ported 2x12. Over time, I found them to be so neutral that they were almost ‘flat’ or ‘dull’ sounding for lack of a better term(?). Cab now has a Mesa V30 and an M65 Cream and I am MUCH happier with it. Sounds livelier - more reactive to your playing.
