that's the "big sack" setting.

steve

Settings to rock 'one's sack':
Excursion "L"
B1
Treble: 1:30
Middle: Noon
Bass: 1:30
Gain: 11:30
Presence: 1:00
Voicing: Modern
Full Power

Ya, dead serious... Loose on the speaker excursion with high bass is just thunderous. This sound SWIRLS!!!! Just insane... Les Paul, bridge for the most part, full volume on the pot. This setting at noon to 1 o'clock on the MV is simply sick - and yes - ZERO fx... Unecessary in this realm :D

V.

EDIT: Had to add Presence, apologies....see above.

That was one of my favorite settings on the 101b!

I dialed in exactly the same settings with a little less mids kind of 11 o clock on the 101B. Nice!

It's the volume that makes it come to life...

I love the 20thA, and love it even at 'bedroom, living room, dining room, and mudroom' levels (just had to, sorry :D ) but once it get's past that tube-surge at 11 or 11:30, it really starts to pick up steam... Man, ya, I love it. I love it because the amp feels alive and almost a weeeeeee bit independent of my actions on the guitar, it's like my wingman - kinda has my back, does its own thing a little bit, but always there to make whatever I'm doing really shine.

As you know, I've got the VH4S too, and that's my other favourite amp - but it's more like a machine... It's surgical, clinical, tight as hell, and percussive. It's a heartless beast and just owns it in the high gain, aggressive pseudo metal to metal style performances (and yes, it has a soft side too, no doubt about it). But the 20thA to me is just like having the best of the 60's amps right through to year 2020 or something...and 'organic' at that!!

Peace,
V.

Hey V you should be an amp salesman my God! Write a book or something, I read what you say and a whole set of imagery comes to mind. I imagined the Diezel as a sort of Terminator from the future... Its a metal monster but it can disguise itself as a lovely woman...

        Well THANKS man!! That's not the first time someone's commented on my skill at making an amp sound good in writing... What can I say?? I'm pretty passionate about my sound, and no, I'm not a troll for Bogner OR Diezel for that matter. I just know what I like and speak from the heart...

Too funny, I'll take it as a compliment.

But you know what?? You're quite right - the Diezel IS like the Terminator... :hys: It's this heartless savage machine that just goes on stage and flattens everything in its path... Melts the first 3 rows of faces too!! It's mean!! Just destroys!!

Then the 20thA comes along and it's all chewy and tasty and organic...

Hard to explain, I love both of them dearly and I love the fact that I've found 2 amps that have sated my need to get 'that sound out of my head and into my hands!!".

Glad you're loving your 101B Braddah... Peace & Love!!!
