M motorboy1 Well-known member Nov 5, 2021 #2 When I had the amp I liked the stock JJs best and I hate JJ preamp tubes. Just seemed to tame some of the treble. I tried all kinds of 12ax7s, 9th gen, 8th gen, EH, Ruby etc.
