Bogner 412 vs Friedman 412 (vs German made Diezel 412)

I'm looking for some information about differences in tone between these cabs, I'm especially interested in opinion about the first two cabinets. I know that Diezel is build differently (front loaded), but if someone compared this cab to Bogner or Friedman I'd like to hear some opinion. I know that I should hear them by myself but it's impossible to find a Friedman where I live. I owned Bogner Ubercab and now I own German made front loaded Diezel 412 with 4 x g12k100 if this helps in any way.

Any info welcomed :)

What amp will you be using with it? Different amps gel better with different cabinets. When I got my XTC I A/B'd a Bogner 4x12 to the Diezel and the Bogner was clearly the winner.

I'm thinking about buying Friedman BE. I saw that many people pair it with V30 Bogner cab. Here where I live it's easier to find Bogner cab and I wonder if it's really worth to buy and ship Friedman cab from the US.

If go with the Bogner then and rip out the batting on the back panel. You can always swap out a couple of V30's with Greenbacks.

I've A/Bed the BE through a Friedman cab and Bogner Uberkab and preferred the Friedman but it could have just been the speaker difference. Bogner does make a great cab.

I prefer the standard Bogner cabinet to the Uber with the BE.

[Tried typing out a reply and lost my connection, grrrrrrr... ]

ANYWAY, played Diezel FL, RL, UberKab, Standard and OS 412.

Diezels are tight as a frog's ass - the FL G12K100 can anyway. Holds lows like money

I personally dig the liveliness and player-feedback of the Bogner cabs, and think that the UberKab is a pretty versatile cab for all around thunder, strange too, considering it's got 2 x 75s in it and I am by no means a fan of 75s. But so it goes - great cabs, potent as hell, and playful.

If you want awesome craftsmanship, great engineering, awesome customer service at a terrific pricepoint?? Go with a Fryette D412 of FB412 and replace the stock P50Es with whatever you want (V30/G12K100 is a great mix up). Stereo/mono, great construction, won't kill the pocketbook.

But prior to leaving civilization??? I was digging the vibe of my Bogners... To each their own :dunno:

Peace,
Uncle Mo

I'm pretty sure all those cabs are built by the same builder

A lot of the boutique cabs on the market are the same cabs with different cosmetics and speaker selection. They're made by centralized wholesalers and sold to the amp companies. You can go to some of those builders and buy a 4x12 styled to your liking for under $400 that is exactly the same as the $1200 cabs on the market and then put the speakers you want in it. Expensive 4x12s are rarely anything special unless the actual design of the enclosure deviates from the traditional Marshall design. I believe the front-loaded Diezel is built differently and has some internal baffles to alter air movement within the cabinet. But the Bogner, Friedman, etc... are just a Marshall-style box.

Indeed
Except most wholesellers won't sell you one single cab
They have a minimum order amount

That's true for some of the guys that don't want to sell single cabs but there are a number of companies (Stagecraft, Mather, Swanson, Mojo, etc...) that will build a single cab no problem and for a great price. I've gotten quotes for a pair of custom 28x28x14 4x12s from several companies in the last week and all except for Mojo have been well under $400 per cab.

I'm pretty sure Friedman is making his cabinets in house now.

I believe Fryette is in-house too...

Not sure, just thinking.

But the Diezel FL cabs are made in Germany, this I do know, and this ain't no localized wholesaler.

Yep, and, they are different inside. There is a YouTube vid where Peter S. talks about the construction of the newer Diezel cabs.

Never personally heard or seen a Friedman cab. The tones I've heard online are excellent though.

Want Friedman goodies REAL bad
