I want some new speakers for my 412

Honestly maybe try Celestion Redbacks or Mesas BlackShadows.

Also can't go wrong with 2 Greenbacks and 2 G12H30 70th Anniversary or 4 Greenbacks but if you want more headroom or power handling the Redbacks or BlackShadows could be a better option.

A Neo Cremback is worth considering too.

Jenson BlackBirds are worth considering too but those aren't cheap or some of their Alnicos.

412 of Tone Tubby 40/40s isn't a bad idea either and those things are quality. If your looking at something a step above your regular speakers Tone Tubby 40/40s really are fantastic especially for higher gain and in general.

You could go with a Redback/Creamback H combination for example or throw some Swamp Thangs in there too.
Actually, I'd personally load up two Jensen Nighthawks and two Redbacks or if you can wait a little bit, Lichtlaerm Audio will be releasing a 16 Ohm version of the LCFR-150 soon.
Yeah I mean would say RedBack or Neo Creamback or both just for the higher handling.

But I mean yeah this or some Tone Tubby Ceramic 40/40s especially after those are broken in the Hemp cone really handles higher volumes nicer than regular paper IME even if they don't provide as much wattage as something like a V30 and offer a very smooth tone.

But yeah would say Redback/NeoCreamback route is the way to go if your going for Celestions, if your going for something else Tone Tubby is where I would look too vs WGS or Eminence stuff too. But speaking of definition/detail/articulation really comsider a 40/40 Tone Tubby @MadAsAHatter, those hemp cones really do make a difference there and handle power nicer than most regular paper cones in general IME.

Scumbacks sound great too and I would also consider their higher powered speakers.

Honestly yeah the Classic Lead 80 is worth considering too aside from from a Mesa BlackShadow and is another good one and aside from the RedBack or Neo Creamback and Tone Tubby recommendations if you really wanted the most handling possible........

I mean these would probably be best for a Twin or something but yeah....... and they are Neo Versions which mean high power and low weight.

The CopperBack at 250 watts may be something OP might consider depending level of saturation/gain/volume but yeah.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I've had a change of plans and figured out something different and probably a little crazy.
I'm going to use the cab in question with a different set of amps and load it with some greenback style speakers.
Here comes the crazy part. I'm going to build myself a 6x12 (you read that right) to go with the BV300 and a few other 4 ohm heads. Weber offers some of their speakers in 24 ohm. That can be wired up in parallel for 4 ohms total. I'm looking at the Gray Wolf, Silver Wolf, Black Shuck, or some combo of those.

And for everyone saying I need some EVM 12L... Those will come later down the road, but I think I'll step it up a notch. I'm planning a couple of 4x15 cabs. I want to load some EVM 15L in one of them.

I have Weber's loaded in my 2 main cabs. A 412 with Gray Wolf/Silver Wolf mix. The other is a 212/115 with Gray Wolf/Blue Dog-15 mix. Both are great sounding cabs.

Tell me more about the Black Shuck. I've been interested in it, but there's a lack of demos and reviews. Weber's description makes it seem like it's more for down tuning. I did see an old post from CJ saying something like it was more Black Sabbath than AC/DC, but I really don't know what he meant by that.
I have 2 cabs with Silver Wolves mixed in. I love 'em. They mix nicely with a lot of speakers. Eminence and Celestion don't pair nicely imo. But the Silver seems to work well with either brand. I havent found a use for my Gray Wolves yet. I was considering replacing the two K100s in my Diezel cab with the Black Shucks but I'm hesitant too.

You're gonna need a new dolly. I recommend one of these.

Hmmm. A 6x12. The cab equivalent of Morganna the kissing bandit. Giant giant fuck udders. 😍 Get your motorboatin on son!

Tone Tubbys take a really, really long time to break in. Def wanna get 'em used n' flogged to death.

Those cabs are front loaded with K100s too, they sound pretty killer even if they look goofy with the chrome accents.

CL80s are pretty nice, have more midrange content than a K100 but are a little smoother, don't have the same "bite" so to say at the top end...they do sound pretty great mixed with T75s too (or K100s). I have one of my cabs x pattern with CL80 and K100 right now.

A speaker I do like but is not that efficient is the Weber Black Shuck, it sounds killer but it does get overpowered by basically every other speaker so if you pair it with something it'd just add lows or "depth" if you want to say but you wouldn't notice it much. I have a Silver Wolf too which is a lot louder but is a cool combination, I should get another Black Shuck at some point so I can run it by itself. I have the Dire Wolf too, it's not my favourite but it's okay. (it is louder than the Black Shuck) There's a stoner doom video on youtube which gives a pretty accurate representation of them. (the seacow cabs one makes them sound more samey)
Any chance you could share another Black Shuck demo? I’m looking at 6x12 builds and have been wondering how Black Shucks might mix in a zig-zag pattern with something brighter.

CJ at Weber suggested the Bloodhound would add some sizzle to the mix. I gather Black Shucks are extremely dark in their own.

I was initially wondering if V30s or G12H-75s would work, but your comment about the Black Shucks disappearing is giving me second thoughts.

Check out Avatar speakers and see if they have some stuff you like. I really dig some of their speakers - the AV75s especially.

Yeah, man, I’ve read all your Avatar posts, actually! And I’ve watched the demos many times, as well. (And emailed Dave 🙂.)

He suggested the AV75s were close to T75s and the AV90s are similar to CL80s? Would you second that?

I think I’ll probably grab another Avatar 2x12 with his speakers at some point. I already have one with Fane F70s, but the price for his Misco speakers is just bonkers ($69 if you get them loaded?!)

I do not think the AV75s sound like the Ts at all. I haven't had a speaker with such a wide open range such as this. The tops go all the way up, and the lows go all the way down. There is no midrange blocky "cut off" or shaping either. Very transparent but meaty. That being said, I could see them being too much of everything for some people.

The AV90s are cool, not my favorite speakers, but they work for their own thing.

I have not spent time listening to CL80 demos unfortunately, so I cannot say if those two are similar or not.

I have an Egnater Armageddon 412 that I want new speakers for. It's currently loaded with Elite 100 (G12K-100) on the bottom and WGS Retro 30's on the top. This combo works fine, but it just isn't doing it for me anymore. The WGS speakers lose definition at anything more than medium volume and I'm not vibeing with the K100's top end anymore.

This cab is connected to my BV300 that I'm running some rack preamps though (mostly Synergy/MTS stuff).
The BV300 is 300 watts and runs at 4 ohms so I'll need to match that.
That means high power speakers, 75 watts min and 16 ohms so I can wire it up to 4 ohms total.
I'd also prefer to do a full quad rather than mixing spekaers.

I'm not interested in any WGS speakers. I've had the same experience with all I've tried. They lose definition at band volumes.
Celestion & Eminence are pretty limited in what fits the criteria. Except for the Redbacks none of those peak my interest. And I'm not sure I'd like a quad of redbacks.
Scumback has some interesting offerings, but I've never tried any and don't know much about them.
I've bonded well with Weber Gray Wolfs, but don't have a cab with a full quad of them. All my Grey Wolfs are mixed with something else. So I'm leaning towards doing a quad of them.

Help me pick out some new speakers.
I followed your path a little. I had v30s because everyone said they were metal. Then i ran them with a greenback cab also.
Then i put v30s with k100s in an x pattern. Then i went all k100s. Then i went to g12 H30s. Now i have a quad of redbacks and I have played a ton of speakers and mixtures of speakers, and the redbacks are by far my favorite

Fanes are really nice too. And there is a cab that Matt uses that i cant remember...maybe h70s that are good. But red backs are king for my taste.
They have the presence of the h30, but a massive low end like the k100. They dont have the missing mids though..they bring more low mids i think.

I have a phone video of them that kind of gives the idea

Here is a clip that is "properly" micd

I can dig them out if I have time but they seem to be less sensitive. I recall reading that they are based on their bass 12 driver so it makes sense usually those are less sensitive than guitar speakers.
