Played a gig last night where we had to really watch our volume. I didnt have a good rehersal for this gig last week so I was a bit worried but after trying to figure out why I couldnt turn up the volumes very much without blasting I figured out it was a level issue with my wet dry rig. Somehow my send level from my Suhr speaker line out had gotten turned up really high so I was hearing mostly the wet and not much dry. I hadnt messed with it from the last time I set my levels so I didnt think to look at at where it was set. Anyway after some getting the levels back right, I experimented with it in 20 watt mode and was pretty happy. So last night I put the Alchemist in 20watt mode so I could open the volumes a bit more, adjusted the level to my Tech 21 Power Engine wet cabs using my Suhr speaker line out to my M13 to make sure it all balanced out to the room. Tilted my Power Engines back to point more at my head and was a very happy camper. Im impressed on how versatile a head it is. Im able to set it up for a more modern pre amp gain or to take pedals as lower gain head. One thing too is this design seems to me able to be dialed in not as dark as most of Bogner's stuff. I really really like the pushed cleans and crunch on this amp. I also like setting the gain lower on the gain side and using pedals to push it. My sound from the stage was cutting out front really well and wasnt dark or muddy at all.

IMHO its a very very good bang for the buck.

I only played on the one 12 at GC for a bit with a lot of other playing going on in the room. But I like what I was could hear. Must agree about the pushed cleans/crunch. That is the sound I liked best.
