Just got the first of my Bogner Front Loads delivered. This cab is certainly the bee's knees and will probably kick ass with any amp. Lugo brought this up a few weeks back. Came with 30/75's @16 ohm. I got it mated up with the 20th XTC right now and played it for most of the day. Sounds awesome with the TJ too. I had been monkeying around with speakers and cabs the last couple weeks, retweaking the amp and trying to find the best fit. Fuck, plugged into the cab and the head practically dialed itself up. Got another one coming for the TJ. I am getting it loaded from Bogner with 30's/100's. First thing I did though when I took a break was to pull all that silly ass looking silver piping off the grill though. That stuff had to go. I like the fact that Bogner is delivering these cabs in 16 ohm now. The amps sound way better running at 16 ohm and with two cabs, running it at 8 ohms sounds good too. Both the 20th X and the TJ I thought sounded like ass with a 4 ohm load when running two 8 ohm cabs.

Yeah, I am getting real happy with this rig. And sorry Jim, no Scumbacks here.

Can't really beat a Bogner cab for chest thumping punch. The Mills has more bass, buts its not as hard and direct as the Bogner. It wouldn't be too hard to convert an old Bogner cab to front load, as that is literally the only difference between them. Just get some foam gaskets to adhere to the front of the baffle, for the speakers.

Told ya bro!! The FL's a killer cruncher!!
Kills with all introduced

I've been trying to decide, myself, whether to buy a new Ubercab, mill afterburner, or new Diezel German FL cab.

All expensive and hard to figure out which

I have the Mills and an FL Uberkab delivering next week. I think the Uberkab will probably be best,. I know the Diezel cab is lighter. Steve has all three.

To go with your Twin Jet? No brainer...go Bogner. I have all 3 of the one's you mentioned. The Diezel FL is similar, but you will pay out the nose for it. The Mills, while a great cab, just didn't cut it with any of my Bogner amps, TJ included.

How does it fare with other amps though?

TJ is not the only amp i have to use with a cab...

I tried it with all 3 of my Bogner's and it is a great cab. I have another one coming with 30's/K100's from Bogner. It will definitely work with your VH4. Not sure how the Mesa will take to it.

Can't say enough good thing about the 2 FL straights I have. I love them, so warm and powerful.

Over and Out

did anyone ever try putting all v30s in the new front loaded cabs ????

im not a huge fan of the x pattern thing at all, and i wonder if the cab would lose its mojo if the speakers were all the same

Used to use a Diezel FL with my VH4 that had all V30's and it sounded fine. I am sure the Bogner would as well. A front load really projects though. I think the 75's take a little edge off if that is what the amp needs. I really like the X thing myself, especially when tracking.

My thoughts exactly. We mic both speakers and the v30's alone can be a little intense but the g75 blended in adds the warmth and fullness.

I don't know if Bogner changed box makers lately (don't know who they use) but they really stepped up the quality it seems. I had an older Ubercab which was realoaded and sounded good, but I don't remember the build quality being such as it is.

My only bitch about Bogner cabs is those cheap ass casters. I'm half a mind to order me a few more sets of 3" caster kits from Mesa Hollywood and replace the mounts and all. Feel like a whino trying to push the cab around, and probably look drunk too.

Steve

Yeah I had a pair of old rear loaded Uberkabs and they were good but they didn't sound as good as these guys. I also put the Boogie casters on some of my cabs, they are incredible. Strong, heavy duty and wheel super smooth.

yea the casters are really shitty

i think im gona order a new front load from bogner with all v30s wired at 8ohms to run my mark 5 with .....

i also had an older rear loaded uber cab to run with my twin jet when i had it and it doesnt even compare to the new front loaded cabs, it wasnt even close to be honest

I don't think you will be disappointed. I've had a zillion cabs in my studio and these pups are as good as it gets.

I think it is unanimous.....Uberkabs rock

I run all V30's in my FL Ubie and it kills! The V30's are well broken in from many hours
of hammering it on home :D
I dug it with the 30/75 mix but felt the 75's were effecting the clarity and efficientcy.
Killer either way.
