Question for Helios owners
Hot input, 80s mode...at band volume do you have issues controlling unwanted squealing feedback with the gain cranked up pretty high?
I just got the amp and only had a quick run at good volume, but it seemed really sensitive to gain and went nuts in close proximity way easier than I expected. Seemed I had to back it off to like 12:00 to stay in control.
I have seen enough comments that people think the amp could use a little more gain, but maybe they meant 70s mode. Got me wondering though if maybe one of the preamp tubes in mine is on the microphonic side.

How are you setting the pre eq switch, eq bypass, etc.? those make a huge difference with the Helios. .

Unplug your guitar. Turn up the gain and volume. If it squeals easier than you think it should. Try another tube in V1 for comparison. Could be other things causing it like cab placement, etc.. *0's mode doesn't actually have a load of tube gain. It gets it's gain from diode clipping which actually lowers the volume, compared to 70's mode, as it clips the signal.

EQ on. These are ball parks from what I can recall...Presence 11:00, bass 2:00, mid 12:00, treble 11:00. 100 watt, B2, punch on, not sure where bottom was.
I have played other amps loud with a lot of gain with the cab in that spot and could cover the strings and go right up to the cab w/out blowing up.
