Nothing new here.

Reinhold has been ripping off Marshall-tone for years.

I have better ways to spend 5K.

You're hilarious. Bogners have their own thing going on in a big way. Oh, and these are quite a bit cheaper than most other "boutique" plexis. You can buy two of them for 5K. ;)

Uber, XTC and the like all have that sig low-mid hump but Bogner got his start tweaking Marshalls ...

At this point in his career Reinhold has 1st world problems.

This amp is cool but I can think of other things id like for that money.

I give a month or two before Alex AKA rockinchippy buys one and does a 2 minute video of 80's music. :D :D :D

They should get this guy to do the official demo.

Lots of great builders got their start modifying Marshalls. Very few have done as much with it afterward as Reinhold.

And yeah, that video will probably happen.

So Reinhold is a ripoff artist but Friedman is a genius? Brilliant!!!

Certainly worst things in the world than tweaking Marhalls and making 2 minute videos.

ROCK ON ...

in the context of a full mix, this amp would sound quite nice. I like it.

Nice! I hope to never play one

Those guys rip, too. Especially cowboy hat guy. But man, I just want to hear some riffs. Can I get some riffs?

Sounds like a great stage amp, raw and cuts like a knife! Would have love to see the entire demo done by Doug because he´s such a awsome player with tons of soul.
When it comes to the demo I found a bit one dimentional, as if the amp is a one trick pony which I don´t think it is. And I agree with tubortski, where are the riffs?! Thank the lords of rock´n roll that it didn´t get my GAS going, would have messed up the vacation budget ;)

I really thought that I was going to love the clips but I am not blown away by them. I mean it sounds nice but still very much like a bogner with the smooth mids and slight dark tone. I thought this was going to be more plexi based. Am curious to hear what those mini switches can do to the voicing, still want to hear one in person.

Sounds good, I think I would dial it in differently than any of the players in the video but it gives an idea. Would love to try one with a boost pedal. :)

It´s funny you say that because I felt the same way, my initial thought was just how great would it sound with an OD. But that also got me thinking that I bet it sounds so much "better" in the mix with a band, where I think it really can cut through, and shine. Having that said, paying that ammount of money you shouldn´t feel the need of an OD, that stuff/power/gain etc should be there from start, and maybe there is...

Said it before I'll say it again, nothing new here. Sounds great but so do a gazillion other amps. I like the option switching which is where the vintage Plexis' are lacking.

I understand, many players feel that way that you shouldn't need an overdrive past a certain price point.

I breach that barrier often, with amps that many say you shouldn't need to boost. But I like to experiment, and if I use a boost it doesn't mean I don't like the sound of the amp alone. I like the explosive feel to the pick attack that they can add. :)

But with this Helios clip the bottom end sounds really spongy and elastic which is great for solo's but I would almost certainly need to use a boost for rhythm chunking. But it's just one video with many variables, could very well sound/feel different in the room with the amp.

extremely well filmed and edited production
using Rheinhold as a (kooky) front is genius
they went as far as an ambient light shot of his distinctive profile at the end, which was artful
well done Greg V

looks like they mic'd the Helios on a Greenback in the middle, slightly offsetting the mic angle
that is a buzzy place to put the mic, so the sounds are suitable raw and lacking refinement
in the room the amp would sound totally different and much smoother, so judgement reserved until an ambient mic or better placement is used
or indeed until I try it myself, which is always the final decider

Rappaport is a beast. Can't wait till someone here picks one up!

I think the first video with Doug Rap sounded better. I'm intrigued, but still hear a little of that Bogner voicing that I don't jive with.

Dude, this amp is cheaper than the Friedman stuff. And a lot of people have been ripping off Marshall for years. All the way back to Marshall ripping off Fender. Why the attitude? It seems to be a great sounding amp for a pretty good price. It just seems that if it isn't friedman it's an overpriced Marshall ripoff to you. I would probably buy this amp before I bought a BE. Simply because I could get what I needed out of it for about a grand less than a BE. Which I think is a great amp too. But, if the initial clips are any indication, this could serve me just as well as the BE.

As for the people saying it's thin and no bottom end. I bet this amp freakin rips in person.

It shows everybody hears things different (Bogner blanket thread)
Here is a barnburner throwback. A Marshall style w/ a Bogner twist, and most importantly....the price point.
Sounds awesome to me. I'd be at home w/ this head in about 5 minutes.

Thin tone ? The keen observer will note that a slant cab was mic'd up in the video. Mystery solved ! :D
