Year in the life of Rig-Talk.

New amp announced. Lot's of talk.

Pro players make clips. MORE TALK.

Regular Joe schmo's get amp.....sounds like their last amp. Less Talk.

Amp hits classifieds for 1k less than original price. No talk, as another new amp is out.

What about all that talk about how it was better and cheaper than the Friedman? Hope that's over too :)

I don't think anybody with both amps really gave a review of both. I think Friedman=800 tones Helios=plexi tones both hot rodded.

Because everybody knows it
No need to repeat it

Marketing Fail? I don't think so
Look at Randall for a better example of that

so much ass banging butt hurt around RT. comical relief for ass hats.

I totally dug my Helios... Monster amp...!

I just didn't need two of them and I had a second Friedman on my Radar incoming...

There were guys on tgp who owned many amps and picked the Helios as their new favorite. While the talk has died down here somewhat, I think that it's more due to the fact that so few of the amps ordered have been sent out yet. I think it was cool of bogner to not list the amp at $3500 even though they probably still would have sold plenty. Just shows u the markup on some stuff.

I am not talking about it because I am too busy playing mine, Seriously :m17:

Great amp!!! The best Bogner has made since the 100B, IMO

I thought is was a killer amp but I my preferred my MCII. Doesn't mean another would. Outstanding build as you know. My only gripe is the $49.00 dealer special Classic Tone transformers. They could have done better in that department. The OT legs were thin and the transformer easily bends over. No chassis mounts or even washers to add stability to them.I received it bent over. Easily straightened it by only pushing on it. When I shipped it I packed tightly around it and it still bent to my buyer. Top notch build with shit transformers. Not saying all Classic Tones are bad. They sound pretty good. The ones Bogner had custom built for them for this amp  With better iron this amp would probably still be with me. Why build such a nice amp and give it a weak heart. Guess they had to cut cost somewhere. Their marketing on the amp was just this. Offer a modded Marshall to market at a grand less than the competition and don't spend on marketing. I think Bogner might be rethinking this as they were hard to build and they are not sure they are making profit on them. At least a few ago they weren't sure. I'm sure they know by now. Curious to see the revision.

I am not so sure it takes a year..

After a certain point in your development as a player you will sound close to the same on any amp because you developed your sound. Yet we ignore this and buy another amp.....

I think Splawn moved from Heyboer to Classic Tone transformers...interesting.

I've replaced 2 transformers with classic tones and it improved the sound to my ears...and one was a vaunted Mercury....one was a JCM 800(Drake was replaced by the Mercury) and the other a Ceriatone..there's a sound comparison out there with Heyboer, Mercury and Classic Tone and the Mercury came in third to me. They sound good.
