I've got a Bogner OS 2 X 12 closed back (old one without the comet tolex) and wanted the option of making it an open back. I was looking for the panels but could not find them anywhere. Are they available to purchase by themselves? I didn't see anything on Bogner's site. If not, does anyone know the dimensions if I want to cut one myself?

Thanks.

 Couldn't you measure the space yourself if you are able to cut a piece?

Mojotone or some other company may be able to build one for you too.

Call Bogner. I believe you can buy a 2 piece back from them.

I have the OS open back pieces laying around they are 9 1/2 by 28 1/2 two of them of course. I've not tried them yet but keeping them

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure how big the cutout was, which is why I needed the dimensions to do it myself f need be. I'll call Bogner first and see if I can even get them with the old regular tolex.

Please do get direct assistance from Bogner in this matter. You've got one of, if not the best 2x12 cabinets currently in your possession. Don't butcher it - mod it - or change it without staying within the Bogner specs. If you don't like it, trust me, that thing will sell in 5min on any forum, ePay, or CL for a very handsome price.

Just sayin'

How would making a rear panel do ANYTHING to the cabinet itself

He's talking about not cutting the actual OEM rear panel.

I didn't think the OP was talking about cutting the original rear panel.

Oh hell no, I'm not cutting the original piece. This cab is in mint condition. I just wanted the open back pieces in addition for some options.

For those that have the open back pieces - do they also have the insulation on the back like the closed back ones?

Couldn't agree more. My OS 2X12 is one of very few NEVER SELL pieces. I don't even use it that much but I know it's there if I need it.

I feel the same way about my 212CB. Absolutely outstanding cabinet!
