Bogner OS 2x12 closed back the best I've owned so far.

I've tried a ton of different cabs and of them all I still own the Bogner and my Mesa Recto 2x12. The Bogner OS just sounds so massive, clear, articulate and organic. The Mesa sounds great also but just more compressed and less organic than the Bogner OS. The Mesa has to be my #2 favorite of all the cabs I have tried.

What's your favorite?

My favorite Closed back 212 of the ones I have experience . Bogner OS by a margin.

Great cabs! I picked up an older Bogner closed back OS 2x12 a year or so ago and sold both my 4x12's. It just sounds massive and clear and the old UK V30's are nice and broken in. Great cabs especially if you can find one with the old V30's in it!

I've been happy enough with my Whitebox convertible back 2x12 that I haven't bothered trying anything else. Loaded with two G12-K100s, it sounds 3D, has a HUGE but controlled and TIGHT low end, cutting but sweet highs and an aggressive open sounding midrange crunch. It's sounded absolutely phenomenal with every head I've paired with it.

I've owned a bunch. Some of my favorites were Mesa Recto Vertical, Port City OS 2x12, Stone Age. As decent as some 2x12's are they're no substitute for a good 4x12.

I've had the Bogner and Mesa side by side. I used to like the Bogner more. But I prefer the Mesa-branded V30s to the Bogner's Chinese V30s. And the Mesa cab is better for modern metal, whereas the Bogner is woodier and looser. Not worse. Just different. I have Bogner 4x12, which I love. But I got rid of the Bogner 2x12 and use the Mesa with my American high-gain amps.

Bogner makes the best oversized 2x12 cab in my opinion.

Was going to ask the OP and I guess anyone who has the Bogner what amps are you using and what genre do you play?

Also what other 2x12 cabs have you guys tried. I may be in the market for a 2x12 and the Bogner was at the top of the list however, I play metal, my amp has a huge ass and the Mesa may suit me better.

This and with the OS 2x12s you don't save that much weight/size. That said, I still use my Stone Age 2x12 for live. That little bit of extra room helps get it all in my little Honda.

What amp are you running?

My KSR/Rhodes Ares sounds better with the Mesa 2x12. But something more Marshall-like (my Ceriatone Yeti) sounds better with the Bogner 2x12.

All my amps sound amazing with the Bogner 4x12s.

All my amps sound amazing with the Bogner 4x12s.

Rev 2 Uberschall, Mills AB 4x12 and a Suhr Koko Boost V1. Sounds completely amazing but am window shopping 2x12's for portability, smaller shows and home use.

I am sure it is going to be hard to beat the Mills and maybe the Mesa will suit me better idk.

Bogner was at the top of the list but was also looking at Stone Age, Zilla, Port City and others but price does play a factor.

A bit off topic but I actually paid for an Ear Candy Buzzbomb on 11/8. Supposedly it was already built, he just needed to install the handles, order the V12's and wire it up.

He had 100% + on reverb and ebay and I forgot about the old horrible reviews. I have been getting the run around and am going to file a Paypal dispute if it is not shipped out this week so I am just planning ahead.

Hmm, with an Uber it's a toss up. Low-end will be tighter with the Mesa and the sound will be deeper overall. Mids will be more forward with the Bogner and the sound will be more chewy.

Dang I guess I need both then

Hopefully this cab I have on order works out and I don't have to worry about it.

Thanks for the info though, I definitely trust your ears.

for metal VHT fatbottom 212 is great!!

I have a Port City OS 2x12. It sounds huge. I just loaded it up with some Creambacks still breaking in.

I just loaded my Bogner OS 2x12 with 75 watt Creambacks,
very happy with change from the V30's.

Maddnotez: Classic style rock with Marshall 2555x.
The V30's worked just fine. The Creambacks are working finer.

Hey there, I had a 2x12 small mesa cab, a 2x12 oversized mesa cab, a 2x12 medium size with Eminence legend, a Bogner 2x12 open back with g12h30 70's and finally I now have a 2x12 small diezel front loaded cab with V30 and this is the one I prefer by far in the bunch.

I realize I prefer front loaded cab for sound definition and clarity. Mesa oversize was great but sounded little more bassy, less defined (i think cuz its rear loaded) and compress as you said. But the difference is very slim. For portability the small Diezel cab is so light! I hate 2x12 that weight like a 4x12.. It defeat the purpose of having one..!

Haven't tried the 2x12 Bogner closed back with V30. I believe it should be good but its heavy.

For the Uberschall I prefer the Diezel to the mesa boogie. Mesa gets to boomy..

But I'd take V30 everyday. Everything else is a waste of time and money :)
