I'm thinking about buying one of these and I have a few questions. I don't have a Bogner dealer near me, so I'm unable to play it before I buy. Do you find the Shiva to be a particularly bright amp, or a little on the darker side? I've also read posts that people don't like the effects loop when using analog pedals. All I use are analog pedals in the loops of my amps, so a good effects loop is a must for me. Any comments, or advise would be much appieciated.

I didn't find the Shiva overly bright at all. It's definately a great sounding amp overall with a killer clean channel. The loop was the only downfall on the amp IMO. It's usable but I've had better. I wouldn't hesitate buying one.

One thing about the loop. On a bunch of those amps they were labeled wrong on the back. They have a pedals send and a rack send. I always wondered why I was using the rack send with my pedals. The pedals send with my pedals was terrible, know I knew why. But I did sell the amp, it's not bright, I found it a bit flat or nuetral sounding.

Agreed the amp is sorta neutral in terms of brightness/darkness. I sold mine. Didn't have an fx loop switch which I need....just more of an Ecstasy guy.

I had an updated version with 6L6's and bright switches before the 20th Anniversary came out and didn't find it to be bright due to having that lower mids sound that Bogner's are known for. My biggest beef was the lack of bottom end and sag it had. Great clean channel but I just couldn't get along with the gain channel. I doubt you'll have any problems with analog pedals in the loop but the three I ran were digital.
