Bogner Shiva: Metal?

Bogner Shiva is a great rock/hard rock and some types of metal amp. Metal has taken on so many different roles over the last 15 years that it is hard to know if you are talking about hair metal, math metal, diaper metal, etc.....

The Shiva can handle most anything from country to hard rock with no issues, hair metal, not a problem either. Getting into the metal that needs a super tight amp, then I would look elsewhere as others have said. On that note some players have technique that can make non metal amps sound very tight and articulate, so you really need to find what works for you.

The regular old Shiv needs a boost of some kind to get metal tonez from my experience with the one I owned for a short while, I really liked it blended with my old Recto for straight up modern rocks type stuff..... The 20th would get you closer to metal or better yet get a Uber.

An Uber is my first choice for sure, but a Shiva has been thrown my way as a trade option. Can the Shiva get me Cantrell like tones? I think he used to run those. I know he ran Uberschalls for the heavier stuff, and may still do so to this day. I dig his tone. I'm looking for an amp that can capture great hard rock tones, but also get into metal territory before it starts to sound like mush.

Cantrell said in an interview that when he went in to record Degradation Trip, his XTC went down so they used a Shiva. More sludgy than metal but that record has some great tones on it.

Interesting...I dig Jerry's tone on that album.
