Bogner thoughts after LA Amp Fest.

The 70 sounded a lot brighter, more midrangey, with plenty of gain still. Like a much hotter JCM800. God I love Bogner :)

I just wish they would've played more metal riffs in the videos, after all, that's what the Uberschall is really meant for (not saying it can't do anything else, but metal is its forte).
 
Is it? I'm not so sure. I think it is a great Modern Rock amp.

I feel more comfortable playing modern rock kind of stuff on it, depending on how it is dialed in.

Seems really comfortable with stuff like this....Actually, seems really GREAT for stuff like this...much more so than other amps I have used...when dialed in like this...i dialed my amp like these guys, then wrote a new song for my band that is more modern rock sounding...

the twin jet does different things depending on who has their hands on it, when i had mine i used to get some face melting metal tone with it ....

its not necessarily a metal amp(even though thats the area it shines in), but it gets into HEAVY saturation while still keeping its shit together .... i loved that amp when i had it but it got kinda boring after a few months

it does hard rock but i loved the insane metal tones it brought to the table ... great amp but i felt that the older el34 ubers had a better feel/tone to them ....

these are the tones i used to get with mine (my vids) ... my cameras mic hates me when i do amp vids

There aren't many (if any at all) amps that are as heavy as the Uberschall without being so over-the-top as to be unmanageable. The pure saturation and low end leads to such a brutal metal rhythm tone. You can do hard rock with it too, but IMO the Uberschall shines at metal, scooped or not.
 
I found after the conversion to 34's that the TJ shines at modern rock tones just as much as 'metal' tones. The amp saturates and swirls a lot more with these tubes as well...much more musical and rich. Anyone who sold their's without doing the conversion/thought the older Ubers had a better tone/feel, really missed out, IMO.
 
I've tried the (KT88) Twin Jet, prefer my Rev Blue any day. It's just missing something organic and lively. The KT88's make it blunt and machine-like IMO. I'd love to try an EL34 version of the TJ.

This ^^

The tone I heard from the Red TJ in the video reminds me a lot of the TJ I have with EL34's in it. The amp can do Marshall Modified like no other on Channel 1 and Channel 2 is face melting.

I was thinking the same thing regarding the Red TJ. It reminds me of the sweet crunch I get out of mine. I have channel 1 setup with a lot of midrange and it sounds like I had always wanted those modded JCM800's to sound. Then, of course Ch. 2 is just molten, over the top for rhythm and does a great fluid lead tone without having to re-EQ.

The EL34's saturate quicker and add more harmonic content.

On a sidenote that prototype TJ sounded great, would love to try one...

There is no doubt about it. SED EL34's rule in my TJ.

Hey Rich I didn't know you were on here. Videos sound killer. So do you regret selling the TJ before throwing some EL34's in it?

Every time I watch these clips it makes the gas even more intense.
 
i do and i don't, i actually really liked the kt88s in the amp ..... i would have liked to hear the difference the 34's made, but i REALLY liked how it sounded stock ... that amp was sooo damn thick and was sooo loud it practically buried the drummer, deff an amazing amp especially through the new front loaded cabs

i still prefer the tones i get with my mark 5 over it, but id deff buy another uber too keep along side if i found one on the cheap
 
Agree on the loudness.

This Twin Jet I have (actually both of them), cut the band mix so much moreso than any amp I have ever played before.
It has made me have to rethink how I dial an amp in. I normally, on 90% of my amps, run the mids at 3'clock
I think the Twin Jet will have me running them around 11 instead. There are just so much mids in this amp, it's actually quite amazing. never had an amp that cut the mix too much before hehe...
simply awesome.
 
The TJ, Uberschall and Goldfinger I thought were all really great. It was nice to have Mr. Bogner himself on hand. Very cool of him.
