Bogner thoughts after LA Amp Fest.

I got the great opportunity to attend the party and there were a ton of Bogners there. I have played a Twin Jet before but never really knew how to EQ it up...so I kind of just written it off. I always like bands that used them but just figured that it wasn't for me. Well, I was really impressed with the TJ and man was I blown away with its tone. I was even more into the new prototype 70 that was in the TJ head shell. That amp was really cool! Not to mention how cool and friendly Reinhold was, now I just want to give him some business. Super cool guy! So I guess in the new year I'm gonna come over to the Bogner club. I hoping he'll have that amp at NAMM this year so I can actually be able play it. :thumbsup: I can't wait for James' videos to appear so I can hear it again.
 
Whats the prototype 70 all about? I used to own a 2nd rev Uber and played the TJ about a year ago. For high gain I liked the 2 rev I had more. I am blown away by the clips I've heard of the Goldfinger and the 20TH Anni XTC.
 
I asked Reinhold about it and he said it is something in the works. 70 watts that sounded fantastic. If you scroll through the pics on the official thread it was a TJ head in red tolex. It was the last of the TJ's that were demoed. Very similar to the regular Uber and TJ but had a little something different. They all sounded great IMO. This one just really got my attention.
 
That sounds cool.. I wish Bogners came with the quirks worked out before you buy them.
 
reminds me...he gave me his number to call and get my amp modded if i wished, and to help me dial in the TJ.

I should take him up on the offer...

He may have but I didn't hear. It was so blazing loud in that room! I get the impression that it'll be a while for it to be released. As far as power amps there wasn't much talk but I think he has 3 or 4 coming out soon that should be at NAMM this year like they were last year.
 
I'm going to wait until the official HD clips/vids from the shootout are up. I really wasn't impressed with the audio from the streaming video the other night. When the Friedman Naked came on after the Ubers, it sounded much better to my ears, like a blanket was lifted from the sound.
But I've played a couple Ubers, XTC's and Shivas and I loved every one of them! So like I said, gotta wait for the real clips.
 
My thought is too bad they didn't have a single Ecstasy!!!!!!!!!!
 
so can anyone comment on what is he super 70 ..tweaked lower power Uber .new design half Uber half Xtc ..whatever it was it definetly sounded better to my ears than the other Bog .more bite not as dark

I was hoping to hear a 20th XTC w/EL34's as well.

Just more. Kind of like the difference between a VH4's ch.3 & ch.4.
there's just more...gain,
but it sounded to me like it was more alive.

But he's not done with it yet, so we'll have to wait and see.

maybe by namm time.
 
Man I hope its ready by NAMM time...I wanna play it. Either way, I'm buy some sort of TJ or TJ evolution next year. Do we know if any of the TJ's at the fest had El34's in it? I heard those make that amp jump sound amazing.

I don't think so. You cannot compare a KT88 loaded TJ to an EL34. The EL34 destroys it. You must use Winged C because they can handle I believe 500 volts on the screens.
 
I thought the 70 sounded killer! Will be interesting to hear it in final form...
