I'm looking to get yet another uberkab and wanted to know anyone here who has experience with both FL and RL can chime in on which they prefer. I've only played the new FL once and it seemed to punch pretty damn good. Played it with an Orange RV100 MKII and PV 6505. I've owned two of the RL cabs before the whole comet tolex thing and I know those tones very well. Always remembered them being woody, room filling but still had some flub to them if pushed a bit too hard, which my other "metal" style cabs never did and why I sold my bogners at the end of the day. Looking for huge tight lows like the Diezel and ENGL Pro put out.

I’d go with FL because they’re tighter. One thing I don’t like about the Bogner is that is basically the same cab as the RL but just with the speakers mounted from the front. The back panel is still screwed on… unlike Fryette or Diezel where it’s completely sealed on the back

I agree it doesn't make sense to me to have a removable back panel on a front load. I have 2 rear load Bogner cabs and like them a lot. So far my favorite cabs. As far as front load goes best sounding I've had is the Fryette fat bottom cab and the Framus Cobra cab.

Yeah that bugs the hell out of me too but I just recently picked up and ENGL Pro thats front loaded and it also has a removable back panel but man does it punch like a mother fucker. Much more than my Mesa OS cab even.

Agreed! A new Fryette with Fanes is on my radar. I have the Dragon cab but loaded it with GB's and that thing sounds massive. Very underrated cab for sure. Beat out my Splawn and Randal XL cabs I had at the time so those two got sent off.

I dropped V30s into both of those cabs and they slay. A longtime friend and now bandmate has a Cobra cab and I put generic V30s in it. I also did some mods to stop the stupid metal grille from ringing and made that cab rip.

I had the VHT FB cab and had Mesa V30s in it, and it was the best cab I ever played. It was beat to fuck though, as it lived in my trailer and only saw gigs. I sold that to a buddy with a right to reclaim.

I also had an Avatar cab that was front loading that was pretty tight. That was the same deal where the back was removable like the rear loading cab. The difference was that they screwed it in from the inside. I ended up sealing it up wit RTV and it got punchier.

I would go front loading all the way.

Well I went for it. Man does it sound incredible. It still has that big low end like the RL but less boomy. I still got a lot of playing to do to see if I like it better than the ENGL cab but for sure it beats out my Mesa OS. And yes....I compared and played it on the ground for maximum bass response in the room LOL! I just stacked for more space in my studio room.

Very cool man , you snagged one ! ..... Even though I do think its strange the back panel is removable I would still like to try one and compare it to my rear load Bogner.

Love FL cabs...
When you get used to the forward sound the RL sounds so laid back...

Here is my oversised FL:

I actually like that look of your cab. The cork gaskets give it a nice touch (y)

And yeah I agree about the RL sounding a bit mellower. When I switched to my Marshall cab it was such a drastic drop in perceived volume and filled the room differently. I will say the Uberschall loves T75 speakers.
