Have a 2009 Uberschall Twin Jet that I turned on today, but I’m barely getting any volume. I put another quad of KT88s in there but I got no sound out of them at all. Checked all preamp tubes, but they are fine. Fuses are fine too. Any ideas on what to do next?

Also, are you plugging in to a power strip or directly into the walll?

PCB fuses are fine. I’m plugging directly into the wall. The issue started when I was trying to check the bias.

If you've checked all your tubes and fuses, as well as verified that your guitar and cab (or reactive load) are working, next step is to call a tech, as you could have a damaged component somewhere on the board that isn't as easily tracked down or replaced as tubes or fuses.

Something else to be aware of is that I recently had a similar thing happen to a 5150 III. No volume, all fuses and tubes tested good. I took it to my local tech and he was able to track down the issue. Turned out there was a small metal shaving inside the gain pot positioned in just such a way that it was shorting the entire signal to ground.

Just one more thing to consider.

Sadly, I think this is the next step. And unfortunately there aren’t any local techs so I think it’s going to have to go back to Bogner.

One other thing that it’s doing is allowing me to play through the cab at a really low volume while the amp is on standby. It hasn’t done that before.

Do you have compressed air, like for computers? I would spray it all out real quick. Cant hurt

Man. That sucks. Maybe when you contact bogner, they can walk you through a quick fix.

Check the fx loop if you haven't already or use a jack cable

Do you switch cabs a lot? I had the impedance selector switch break on my Rev2 once, it did the same thing you’re describing. I went to jiggle it and it popped out in pieces. Jorg sent me a new one no charge. I’m constantly switching mine though, so if you leave yours set on the same impedance all the time it’s probably not that..

Another moving part to consider is the standby switch. I've heard in some cases, the standby switch will stop working, so you can flip it but nothing happens, or it works in a very degraded state that doesn't allow nearly enough juice to flow through it, stopping the amp from working.

Found a local tech who is going to look at it… fingers crossed that he can fix it.

I emailed Bogner and this was essentially their response. I don’t trust myself with poking around a live amp like that, so I told the tech about it and he’s gonna check it out.
