Received my XTC Classic last Friday and spent some time Saturday arranging a short diddly of it. Found the drum loop somewhere on the net and just laid some Left and Right rhythm guitar tracks with the XTC and direct in with Bass using the Garage Band bass amp sim. Rhythm and lead is all Red channel through a Bogner OS212, sennheiser e609 on the V30. Guitar is PRS SC58 with 57/08 pickups.

After listening to it, the little arpeggio melody in the beginning gets annoying, I should had cut it off at 4 bars and did something else.......so sorry in advance.

Come on, surely my playing isn't that bad huh?! Its no yngzaklynch or mentoneman that's for sure :D

Sounds good man!
The XTC is one amp I've never tried and have been curious about for a long time.

Hey thanks. I've been through a lot of amps over the years and have always end up coming back to the XTC line. I haven't played a 20th XTC yet.

Sounds great man! Got my Classic a few weeks ago. Still getting used to it but I'm loving it so far! We talked a bit on TGP about the classic vs 101b but that was before you had your Classic. How would you compare them now?

The two are definitely different you can tell they're brothers not even twins but definitely brothers a few years apart if that makes any sense. The classic has more Marshall crunch but is looser in the bottom end. The 101B is tighter sounding no matter where the excursion is set whereas the classic I have to keep it on the T setting otherwise the bottom end gets out of control for me, just becomes too much especially for high gain. For lower gain it's really nice to have. Surprisingly I think I like the classics blue channel better than the 101B blue channel. The classic blue channel just has a really open Marshall roar and clarity to it. The red channel I think I might like the 101B red channel better but I'm not sure...... the red channel on the classic is really really really nice also though, just a bit loose sounding and frothy on the top end if too much gain is added.

That's pretty close to how I would describe the Classic too. The blue channel is pretty much the definitive overdrive sound for me. The excursion set on L or M really adds a chewy depth to it that feels and sounds amazing. Red channel sounds good to me with the gain cranked or at about noon if it's boosted. It is a bit loose but I don't really like the tone with excursion set at Tight so I use Medium.

Really depends on the guitar and cab I'm using when it come to the excursion. On my 101B I use M exclusively and so far using T on the classic. I did use M for a while but I had to goose up the pres and treb quite a bit to counter act the massive low end. I can keep the TMB around 1:00 in T mode. FWIW that clip was set at M.
