I have an Ibanez S series guitar and I really like it but I would like to have stainless frets. If I break down and actually decide to do it would it make more sense to get a new neck or get it refretted?

Do you mean buying a new neck, then getting it refretted or finding a S wizard neck already with stainless frets (if that exists?) If it's the former and the neck is in good shape, I would just refret your current neck.

Yeah I was thinking to try to find a Wizard neck with stainless frets. After looking I don't think it would be easy to find.

I’m wondering where from the new neck thoughts even came from?

if you like the neck and guitar, refret.

...or just get a new guitar.

Refret if you like the tone of the guitar. To save money, I’ve gone replacement neck twice, and I’ll never do it again. Changed the tone too much.

Definitely re fret. If you already like the neck, even if you order a new one with the same profile, it could still feel different...I wouldn't take that chance.
