What is it with Zakk? It's like he has that head cutting mentality, not even playing to the song and just the same 4 or 5 show off licks he's been doing forever. Joe completely outclasses him here.

 
I don't know which was more awkward, sounding out of key in spots, continuing to solo after JB started singing again, or the overall lack of taste...

The first half sounded like he was channeling Kerry King with all that mindless out of key mess.


And what the hell happened to Zakk's tone?
Used to think it wasnt bad, but now it's whispy thin and that super high speed Chorus just sounds awfull.
 
Both using Marshall amps and Joe's tone is amazing and Zakk's sucks. And the pickups,active vs passive. I use to be a fan of emg but they are only for metal that's the best proof right there for everything else they suck in my personal opinion.
 
Joe's got to be thinking - WTF, am I in Guitar Center - or on stage!?

Exactly. Zakk is way out of his element here. Mindless shredding fast stuff doesn't work well in a tune like this. Joe just fit the tune better with tasty playing and made Zakk look like the metal hack he is.
 
Not to mention that's the STUPIDEST looking guitar EVER. Will someone tell that fuck 'tard to shave, shower, get his hair trimmed and put on some normal clothes instead of looking like a biker dirt bag every friggin time we see him ? Christ it's getting old Zakk. Get yourself a nice custom shop burst and TURN OFF THE FUCKING CHORUS. Rant over.
 
I loved Zakk, even up to and including the Live At Budokhan DVD...he rips on that...but he comes off like a retard every time he opens his pie hole and looks like he's forgotten how to shower and groom himself and it looks like he wears the same clothes every day. Times change. How many looks have EVH or Lynch gone through ? Would it kill Zakk to put on some blue jeans, a T shirt, some Chuck Taylor Converse sneaks and play a nice flame top LP once in a while ? What does he do when he goes to the beach ? Is he like those biker/metal chicks from the Y&T "Summertime Girls" video where he pours Quaker State on himself to tan ??? I mean, Jesus hard core ALL the time ? Lighten up Francis !

I think he's afraid to tone it down 'cuz he might lose his "following"...Personally I'd rather see him go back to the Pride & Glory thing instead of BLS...
 
Nothing else to say here that hasn't already been.
I am surprised to hear him play so out of key. the whole damn thing is in A.....simple.

I've played that song many times with my old blues/rock band and I'd start out with the Clapton licks then get a little riptastic then reign it in and hit the Clapton licks again. There is opportunity to rip on this tune, but that was terrible. :confused:
