Bonamassa pretty much owns Zakk Wylde here.

Zakk 30 years ago w/ Ozzy is relevant to him talking it up the ass in a Bonamassa jam? LOL
Was he "talking" up Joe's ass or vice versa ? Z(H)ack's ass is a gaper...for sure after JB spread him wide. Zakk's whole claim to fame is his speedy pentatonic licks...blues licks if you will, but JB kicks his ass on that clip. I love what he did with Ozzy, but come on...he's reeking up there with Joe.

How could any decent self-respecting rock guitarist not like this ... ???
It IS awesome. It would be BETTER if he took a fucking shower and stopped spitting all over the stage every 30 seconds though.

I'm holding out for the Kirk Hammett zak wylde slide/wah medly

Ok I figured you guys were just exaggerating a hair but nope. That was pretty rough, LOL. I'm not a huge fan of JB's original stuff but damn if he isn't a great player. Zakk was not at his best here... leave it at that, damn.

Am I the only one who didn't realize that's Ed's face photoshopped on there?

Anybody else have some nuggets of wisdom as to how they think things should be as opposed to how they really are? Some rich replies so far...keep 'em coming :hys:
You think the music biz is better off now than it was in the 60s, 70s, and 80s ? At least you could get a multi album deal and have a chance to make it, where as now if your first single doesn't sell a million units you're toast....and you end up with Britney Spears and Justin Bieber who's careers will be short compared to someone like the Eagles. Sure, there have and will always be one hit wonders, but it's way more common now with the internet making everything viral and then the attention goes away after a bit and the artist is fucked because people only liked that one song...Zakk won't give up his SCHTICK (and that's EXACTLY what it is) because he's afraid to lose whatever following he has. He's been conditioned by the record buying public and the industry at large to think that way. Still think it's priceless ?

Well that's bullshit. Who even sells a million copies nowadays to begin with? Not many artist, and certainly even less with their first single.

Even if the actual numbers I quoted are inflated, ok. Maybe it's half a million...whatever. Singles sell pop music. Look at iTunes, you don't even have to buy the whole album anymore. Back in the day you would have to record the song onto a cassette from the radio or off a friend's album or cassette if you didn't want to buy the whole album...now you can sit at home in your under ware and pick and choose which tunes you want, and people get really picky and only buy what they like...what happened to listening to a whole record the way the artist intended for you to hear it and maybe letting some of the "weaker" songs grow on you ?

That's called the 20th century grandpa
The industry has changed. Better have some merchandise to sell because your "hit" singles won't make you much

Those videos weren't the reason this thread was started. How can any decent self-respecting rock guitarist watch the jam with Bonamassa and not think Zakk was a train wreck.

Hey, I saw Neal Schon rip Vinnie Moore a new asshole in a blues club blues jam in Atlanta in 89. Doesn't make him a bad player, just wasn't his strong point. I mean it was bad to the point I would have sounded better than him. I was shocked. Of course, Neal thrives on that stuff and pretty much mopped hte floor with everybody in the club.

As for ZaKK, I'm sure he's probably really worried about our crtitiques, you know with his gibson and Marshall sig stuff and his worldwide tours with BLS. I like some of his stuff with BLS but they have a crazy loyal following. Not sure I'd try to change what I was doing.

Yeah but I bet he can whip JB and Zakk in a Mic battle. Would be a definite slaughter. JB wouldnt stand a chance.

Joe's a pimping rockstar with a blues schtick and killer gear to die for.

But 10,000K notes into one of his shows and all I hear is Eric Johnson rerun riffage.

Zakk is way more showman to me, never been a blues guy.

BB King & Albert King earned their place but SRV will always be King Of The Blues to me.

Rap is people who cant sing or play an instrument to feel important.

I think Jimmy Fallons band is marketed to the wrong audience as well.

Actually, I'll bet JB would kill on the mic as he can actually sing. :)
That guy can probably yell-talk more though, while incorrectly using the mic like most "MC's" as they try to swallow the f'ing thing.
Plus, I think JB's lyrics would be better as well.
So, I'll take that bet.

BLS's new tune, Dying Time, I don't like ZW's lead tone. Dry as popcorn. What gives?
