I did 3 videos today, two comparing my Boss SD-1 and my Ibanez TS808 mini and one just using the Boss SD-1.
Settings on both pedals were level at 3 o'clock, gain at 9 o'clock, and tone at noon.
I used my Friedman JEL-20 on both the Plexi channel and the higher gain channel.
I used my Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s.

Both pedals were great, but I think I prefer the SD-1.

See what you think...

Plexi channel short video is first, long 11 minute video second, SD-1 only video 3rd

Thanks, I make these videos to try to help people thinking about new gear.
Talking about gear is great, but hearing it is better.

Love my Grunt Style Shirts, I wear them every day.
Nothing political about them, just Patriotic.
Another benefit, bad people and criminals tend to move to a softer target who might not offer Free Body Piercing by Sig Sauer or Glock, lol.

I love the jusxtopoistion of the beautiful house, all light colours, little dog toys in the background. Then you have the guy with the gun shirt and the JEL. Love it!

For what you were playing and jamming on, I liked no boost to be honest. But when you did boost, SD-1 for sure. Lines up with that amp well. SD-1 with a JMP is my favourite and I think that JEL is somewhat based on that, or in that same camp at least, too. So if I wanted to play something harder and shred a little, SD1. But again, no boost was my preference for these videos.

That is why I like my amps, I really could use any of them without a boost and I would be fine, they have plenty of gain, but the more the merrier as fas as gain is concerned, the SD-1 delivers.

I've always had German Shepherds, this little Terrier is very cool, except he always seems to bark when I make a video, then I have to pause the video, tell him to shut up and then resume the video.

The house and colors are all my wife, she is an amazing decorator. If you hear hammering in my house or see painting going on, it is all her.
The guns I actually hate, but they are a necessary evil nowadays, I would rather it be a fair fight without them.

The JEL is my favorite amp currently, 2 channels with high gain or gritty cleans, just about perfect.

Oh, was in no way any crticism. I love it. Not a gun guy myself, because I live in Australia, so never really been around them. The house looks beautiful.

I had German Shepherds growing up. Loved them. But a lot of responsibility to look after too. Big dogs. Now I have nothing because my kids are too young and I don't need anything else to look after :ROFLMAO:. But when they eventually wear me down and beg for a pet, I'll get something a little more gentle and fun. Only one type of dog I dislike in the world and I'm not bringing it up, because that may as well political!

Yeah, those JELs do seem special to be honest. I need to get my hands on one. Plus I dig the colour.

I did not take it as a criticism at all.
At 61, big dogs are not in my future, I watch both my kids big dogs often enough.
There are a few breeds I don't trust, I don't want any dog that can kick my a--.
I've been attacked by a large un-neutered dog before, it was not fun, luckily I was able to break away before I had to put it down.

The JEL is a really nice amp. As for the color, I would have bought it if it was plaid or pink just for the tones.
The Twin Sister, the two channel version 40w version of the Little Sister would be cool also if you can deal with a little less gain.

Yeah, I only really became truly conscious of the risk of dogs since having kids. In like to take them for walks around the neighbourhood. One day we walked into a park and there was a huge muscular dog in there. Was just me and 2 toddlers and a dog. Luckily I just backed us out of there and I would have happily thrown myself in front to protect my kids, but man it made me aware of how a dog could hurt a small child.

Anyway, I’m derailing your thread.

The other Friedman I’ve dug a lot to be honest was the Dirty Shirley. I just looked up the Twin Sister and it is two channels of the Shirley. Nice.

Much prefer what I’ve heard from them than the BE styles.

Same, I prefer the more vintage tones.
BTW, Rule #9 from Gibbs on NCIS, always carry a knife, when I walk my dog or my grand kids or even myself, if I am not carrying a gun I have a legal Smith and Wesson pocket knife.
