Boost Pedals for Marshall’s, what’s great?

I’ll throw in another rec for the Suhr Koko. Really enjoyed it with my Plexi’s and 5150 sig. I don’t use the clean boost all that much but the mid boost I use quite a bit. To the far left it gets a good grunt or “gurnt” as I like to call it for heavier stuff. To the far right it’s in the ballpark of a TS mid boost.

I’d hit up Griffin though and get something cooler.

MXR 6-Band EQ in front of your OD.

I use one along with an MXR Custom Badass Modified OD, and the pairing works quite well. The EQ adds a bit more grit, and you can better carve the frequencies. And lets you get it tight AF.

Of many tried over the years... Timmy V2, GA Chiron, and the surprise of 2025 is the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe.

A Chase Tone Secret Pre is nice as a subtle boost.

Set at about 2 o'clock you get a 3db push. Just enough to add a bit more compression and gain, and the three position tone switch lets you tweak where the frequencies are boosted more- high, mid, or low.

I have a Studio Jubilee and use a Keeley Blues Disorder or Super Rodent with it or my Griffin Super Drive (Boris Frankenstein".

Klon KTR or Maxon OD808X for me. OD808X for more teeth or KTR for more thickness. That said, just saw a bunch of recommendations for the Koko Boost Googled to see what prices are doing and found an original at a good price - now on its way to me. Damn this forum 😂

What other boosts should I try with my Marshall’s? I’m running a silver jubilee and an 800. Here’s what I have at the moment. The Friedman is my least favorite so looking for something to put in its place. I like options. This board is just for boosting the Marshall’s.
The SD-1 you have in front of a JCM 800 can be good to great.
Went through a lot boosts over the past 10 years in front of Marshall's. Always end back up with a SD-1

Boss SD-1.
^^^I agree, I got the Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee combo. And so far the Boss SD-1 and Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer have worked out marvelous.

I've been tempted to try that Tumnus Deluxe, but I've read too many say it's tubby, or colors too much?
None of my experience. It can do what you want the claw to do, but you can dial back the meds in the game to get it more of a transparent boost. Just tonight, I was running the volume all the way up in the game all the way down in the trouble in the mid knob at about 2 o’clock and the base at about 11 and I was getting a great rock Tone reminiscent of/on the illusion albums.

I think it’s pretty well overlooked overall, but it’s very versatile

Personally my favorite is Waynes lightspeed clone, right now
I just got a GLO a couple weeks ago but haven't tried it with a Marshall yet. I'll try that later today.

Usually for me it's an EQ and I really like the old big box Boss GE10. Except that it's so damn big and doesn't have an LED.

I would start here

The Chiron ( Klon clone ) is in my top three ...

The Super Dupah Drive is also a really good one ... about as versatile as you can get for a SD-1

there's a few more options here

but when it comes to drives , boosts , fuzzes and distortions I can pretty much build you anything
