If you're looking for cheap and simple, the DeltaLab DD1 is about as cheap and simple as it gets. Sounds pretty good, too!

Just looked up the tap tempo. The DD7 requires an additional footswitch, but has it. The DL8 has it built in, but its kind of clunky to get to.

I haven't tried the Hardwire pedal. I have a DD7 on my board and it works and sounds great. I wrestled with getting something that had more features on it and initially had the Flashback X4 on the board but I had a lot of problems with the unit, even after the firmware updates.

In reading the last couple replies of yours, I gotsta say, you and I are on the same page with our chagrin towards all things "firmware update"
